Oracle Projects shares organization, job, and employee information with Oracle Human Resources. The organizations and organization hierarchies of an enterprise are closely interrelated with the enterprises policies and procedures. To configure Oracle Projects to meet your business requirements, you must make critical implementation decisions regarding how to set up organizations in Oracle Projects. In a dynamic business environment, changes to organizations and organization structures are inevitable. When an organization structure changes, it is very important to understand the implications to a PA implementation. You can change the organization hierarchy setup in Oracle Projects to reflect changes to your companys organization hierarchy. To maintain system control and enforce your business rules, it is important to plan and manage the change carefully.

Setup>Human Resources>Organizations>Define

Name: Type: Effective Dates: Location: Internal or External: Location Address: Internal Address:

Enter a unique Name for the Organization. Specify the Type of organization, using the list of values. The list of values is user defined. Enter effective dates for the organization. Assign a location to the organization, using the list of values. Specify if the organization is Internal or External. Defaults from the selected location. If applicable specify the internal address name for the organization.

In the Organization Classifications Region please provide: Name: Based on how that organization will be used. Each organization that is to be utilized by PA must be assigned one or more of the following classifications, as appropriate: HR Organizations. Project employees are assigned to HR Organizations. Expenditure incurred on a project by employees will be associated with a HR Organization.

Project Expenditure/Event Organization: An Organization incurring Project related Expenditures and/or process Project Events. Project Task Owning Organizations Organizations responsible for carrying out Projects or Tasks. These Organizations will be assigned to a Project at a Project Level or a Task level. (Other Information required: Allow entry of Indirect, Capital and /or Contract projects - (Yes/No)) Project Invoice Collection Organization: Organizations responsible for issuing of invoices. Note: Not used for centralized billing. Note: Ensure entry of effective change dates for organizations. Create the organization types you require by entering values for the Enabled: Check the Enables Box.
