Criminal defense of officers and directors of public and private corporations in matters involving
allegations of securities, healthcare, insurance and anti-trust violations, including representation
of a former chief financial officer of a Fortune 100 company. Conduct internal investigations
of domestic and international corporate entities to evaluate exposure to criminal and civil liabilities.
Involved in all aspects of complex commercial and environmental litigation, on both a state and federal

Supervised and trained Assistant United States Attorneys in the investigation and prosecution of
federal offenses including: criminal tax violations, bank fraud, mail and wire fraud, as well
reactive criminal matters. Formulated and implemented charging policies, and interacted with
senior management personnel at various client agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Direct supervisory litigation responsibilities in more than ten federal trials. Served as office-wide
International Crime Coordinator.

SPECIAL PROSECUTION DIVISION April 1997 -February 1999


Conducted Grand Jury investigations and prosecuted criminal cases involving public corruption,
including the successful prosecution of the former Essex County Treasurer in a multi-million dollar
municipal bond underwriting scheme.

C R I M I N A L DIVISION September 1992 -April 1997


Tried more than eight cases, including the successful trial and conviction of six defendants in a narcotics,
firearms and kidnapping conspiracy in which two defendants were sentenced to life without parole.
That case also culminated in a published opinion by the U.S. Supreme Court in United States v. Jacinto
Rodriguez-Moreno, 526 U.S. 275 (1999), wherein the Supreme Court reversed the Court of Appeals and
reinstated the only conviction to have been previously reversed in the case.

AWARDS

Recipient, Attorney General's Special Achievement Award for Sustained Superior Performance of Duty.
Selected by U.S. Attorney to serve as an Instructor, Department of Justice National
Advocacy Institute, Washington, D.C.
Recipient. Attorney General's Special Achievement Award for the successful trial and conviction of
seventeen defendants on RICO, homicide and narcotics charges in United States v, Victor Gonzalez, et al.,
a case wherein four defendants were sentenced to life without parole.
Recipient. Letter of Commendation from Louis J. Freeh, the Director of the Federal Bureau of
Investigation,
for the successful prosecution of United States v. Victor Gonzulez, <:t a/.
Recipient. U.S. Attorney's Special Achievement Award for the successful prosecution of
United SMIL'S v, Galluzzi. u case i n v o l v i n g public corruption.
