RECAP: The Rainiers lost their 6th straight game losing 4-2 to Omaha on Thursday night. CF
Abraham Almonte (1x5, 2B), 2B Ty Kelly (1x4, BB), RF Franklin Gutierrez (1x5, 2B), 1B Jesus
Montero (1x3, R, 2B, 2 BB), LF Stefen Romero (1x4, R) and SS Carlos Triunfel (1x4, RBI) each
recorded 1 of the Rainiers 6 hits. Starter James Paxton (3.0,7,4,3,1,3) recorded his 9th loss of the
season, allowing 4 runs (3 ER) on 7 hits in 3.0 innings. Relievers RH Chance Ruffin
(2.0,0,0,0,0,1), RH Brian Sweeney (2.0,2,0,0,0,5), RH Carter Capps (1.0,0,0,0,0,0) and LH
Bobby LaFromboise (1.0,1,0,0,0,2) combined to allow only 3 hits and struck out 8 in the 6.0
scoreless innings.
REHAB ASSIGNMENT: OF Franklin Gutierrez began his third rehabilitation assignment with
Tacoma on July 19. He went 1-for-5 with a double yesterday. Overall he is batting .217 (30x138)
with 19 runs scored, 10 doubles, 3 home runs, 20 RBI, 10 walks and 2 stolen bases in 33 games
with AAA Tacoma. Gutierrez was placed on the 15-day DL on June 25 with a strained right
hamstring. He appeared in 2 games (June 22-23) after being activated from the disabled list on
June 22. Gutierrez was on the disabled list from April 23-June 21 with the same injury (right
hamstring strain). Gutierrez was batting .267 (15x60) with 8 runs scored, 4 doubles, 5 home runs (3
leadoff HR) and 11 RBI in 18 games (15 GS in CF) this season for Seattle. This is the 6th trip to the
DL for Gutierrez since the start of the 2011 season. RH Stephen Pryor began his first rehab
assignment on July 19. In 4 appearances with Tacoma he is 0-0 with a 15.00 ERA (5 ER, 3.0 IP).
He also made a rehab start on July 16 with Short-A Everett, allowing 3 runs (2 ER) on 3 hits with 1
strikeout and 1 balk before being removed after reaching his pitch limit. Pryor was placed on the
15-day DL with a tear in his right latissimus dorsi muscle on April 15. Pryor appeared in 7 of
Seattles first 14 games this season. He did not allow a run in 7.1 innings while striking out 7 and
allowing just 3 hits and 1 walk.

OF NOTE: INF/OF Nate Tenbrink has hit safely in 8 of his last 9 games, batting .355 (11x31) with
9 runs scored, 1 double, 4 home runs, 9 RBI, 7 walks and 1 stolen base. INF Ty Kelly has hit safely in 17 of 24 games since being
acquired, batting .326 (29x89) with 15 runs scored, 5 doubles, 2 home runs, 7 RBI and 20 walks. INF Carlos Triunfel has hit safey in each
of his last 6 games, batting .318 (7x22) with 1 runs scored, 1 double, 2 RBI and 2 walks. OF Carlos Peguero is the 2nd Rainiers player to
collect 6 hits in a game this season (7/26 at Reno), and the first since OF Abraham Almonte went 6-for-6 at Colorado Springs on May 29.
Prior to Almonte, Tacoma had not had a player collect at least 6 hits in a single game since Jerry Owens on August, 29, 2009. The Rainiers
have now had 5 different players collect at least 5 hits in a single game this season (Carlos Triunfel, Nick Franklin, Abraham Almonte,
Dustin Ackley, Carlos Peguero). The rest of the league combined has had just 10 players turn in five-hit efforts in 2013. Before Tacomas
current campaign, the Rainiers had not featured two players with five-hit games since their 2007 season (Adam Jones and Wladimir
Balentien). LHP James Paxton recorded a season-high 11 strikeouts on June 22 vs. Fresno. It marked his 9th career start recording at
least 10 strikeouts (last: 11, 5/13/13 at New Orleans). RHP Taijuan Walker tossed 14.0 scoreless innings over his first 3 AAA starts, before
allowing a solo home run in the 5th inning on July 7 at Salt Lake. Overall he is 2-1 with a 3.09 ERA (11 ER, 32.0 IP) in 6 starts with
Tacoma. He has limited opponents to a .234 (29x121) average, while walking 12 and striking out 33. Walker is currently the youngest
player in the PCL this season and 2nd-youngest in Triple-A. He made his Triple-A debut vs. Fresno on June 25 at Cheney Stadium (W,
6.0,3,0,0,2,4). Walker is the youngest Rainiers pitcher to make his Triple-A debut since a 19-year-old Felix Hernandez on April 8, 2005 at
Fresno.

Dunigan in a 3-run 3rd innings as Jackson defeated Huntsville 5-2 on Thursday night. Dunigan
(2x4, 2 R, HR, 2 RBI), who recently returned from the DL, hit his first home run with Jackson and
also led the team with 2 hits. 2B Chris Taylor (1x5, R), RF James Jones (1x1, 2 BB), DH Ji-Man
Choi (1x2, R, 2B, RBI, 2 BB), C John Hicks (1x3, R, 2B, RBI, BB), 1B Daniel Paolini (1x3, 2B,

OF RECAP: The Mavericks rallied for 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th innings, but the rally fell short as High Desert lost to Stockton 7-8 on
Thursday night. 1B Steven Proscia (4x5, R, 2 2B, RBI) led the team with 4 hits, while CF Jamal Austin (2x4, 2 R, RBI, BB), RF Kevin
Rivers (2x5, R, 2 2B, RBI), 3B Patrick Kivlehan (2x5, 2 R, 2 RBI, SB) and C David Vilasuso (2x4, R, 2B, RBI) each recorded 2 of the

defeated Beloit 15-6 on Thursday night. All 9 starters in the LumberKings lineup recorded at least 1 hit, including multi-hit games by 2B
Ketel Marte (4x6, R, 2B, RBI), LF Jamodrick McGruder (3x5, 2 R, SB), DH Jordy Lara (3x4, 3 R, HR, 5 RBI, BB), 3B D.J. Peterson
(3x5, 3 R, 3B, HR, 2 RBI), CF Janelfry Zorrilla (3x5, R, 2 2B, RBI), RF Alfredo Morales (2x5, 2 R, RBI, SB) and C Marcus Littlewood

season, despite allowing 6 runs (5 ER) on 7 hits in 6.0 innings. RH Jochi Ogando (3.0,1,0,0,0,2) allowed 1 hit and struck out 2 in 3.0
scoreless innings to earn his 3rd save of the season.

NORTHWEST LEAGUE ALL-STAR TEAM: Seven players from the Everett AquaSox were named to the Northwest League Northern
Division All-Star team, including pitchers Aaron Brooks, Lars Huijer, and Jose Valdivia, catcher Carlton Tanabe and infielders D.J.
Peterson, Jack Reinheimer, and Justin Seager. The first-half division champions were rewarded for their efforts with strong showings in
both fan and manager voting as Peterson and Reinheimer were selected as starters for the leagues first All-Star Game since 2004.
Peterson will be unable to participate after recently being called up to Single-A Clinton.
In addition to the 7 Everett players that will suit up for the All-Star Game, the AquaSox coaching staff, including manager Rob Mummau,
