This drawing based practice is concerned with contemporary instances of absurdity. This research seeks to catalogue and restage various examples of the absurd, particularly those resulting from their relationship to digital technology. Various samples of absurdity (both accidental and intentional) are taken from the ubiquitous flow of digital media and pressed into service as source material for my drawing based practice. Drawing is positioned as an appropriate tool to research digital absurdity (and the various conditions that arise from this absurdity). Inherent qualities of drawing, both formal and conceptual, are offered as means of quantifying, expressing and exploiting absurdity for the purpose of a practice lead research project.
