Raspberry Bag

MATERIALS:

2 x 100g balls Stylecraft Special DK (Bag is worked with 2 strands held together) 6.5mm hook 2 x D-rings 2 x Swivel Bolt Snaps Lining Fabric Pretty scarf to decorate CH (chain) SC (single crochet) HDC (half double crochet) DC (double crochet) MFB (make first bobble on row) MB (make bobble)

ABBREVIATIONS:

MFB Chain 3, 3DC in same stitch. Drop loop from hook; insert hook from front to back in top of Chain 3, grab dropped loop and pull through stitch. MB 4DC in next stitch. Drop loop from hook; insert hook from front to back in top of 1st DC, grab dropped loop and pull through stitch.

INSTRUCTIONS (these instructions are written with American crochet terms) With 6.5 mm hook CH 28. ROW 1 (set up row for working in the round); 3DC in 4th chain from hook. Drop loop from hook; insert hook from front to back in top of Chain 3, grab dropped loop and pull through. (1st bobble made). *Miss 1 chain, MB, CH 1.* Repeat from * to * until last 2 chains. Miss 1 chain; in last chain MB, CH1, 3 times turning as you go in order that you can continue by working back across the bottom of the previous row. *Miss 1 chain, MB, CH 1.* Repeat from * to * until you reach the 1st bobble worked. MB, CH1 twice more in same stitch as 1st bobble. Slip stitch into top of 1st bobble. You should have 3 bobbles at each end, with 11 bobbles top and bottom in-between. ROW 2; Slip stitch into next CH1 space; MFB, *CH 1, MB in next CH1 space.* Repeat from * to * around, joining with a slip stitch into 1st bobble. (28 bobbles) ROWS 3 TO 10; Repeat ROW 2. ROW 11; Slip stitch into next CH1 space; CH 2 (counts as 1st HDC), 1HDC in same stitch; *2HDC in next CH1 space.* Repeat from * to * around, joining with a slip stitch into top of CH 2. (56 stitches) ROW 12; CH 2 (counts as 1st HDC); HDC into each HDC around, decreasing 2 stitches evenly across round. Slip stitch into top of CH 2. (54 stitches) ROW 13; CH 2 (counts as 1st HDC); 1 HDC into each HDC around. Slip stitch into top of CH 2. (54 stitches) ROW 14; as ROW 12. (52 stitches) ROW 15; CH1, 1SC in same stitch; 1 SC in each HDC around. Slip stitch into top of 1st SC. (52 stitches) ROW 16; CH1, 1SC in same stitch; 1 SC in each HDC around. Slip stitch into top of 1st SC. Fasten off. Weave in ends.

STRAP Chain 6. ROW 1; HDC in 3rd chain from hook (first 2 chain count as 1st HDC). HDC to end. (5 stitches). ROW 2; 2 CH (counts as 1st HDC). HDC to end. (5 stitches) Repeat ROW 2 until strap is desired length. Fasten off, weave in ends. MAKING UP Line the bag and strap if desired.

Sew D-rings on each side of bag. Sew swivel bolt snaps to each end of strap to fix to D-rings. Tie a scarf in a bow to one of the D-rings.
