Almost Ready
We are so close - you can see the finish line from here! You have volunteered weekends, evenings, on-site, at events, with mailings, phone calls, your time and finances, sacrificing for the sake of families in need. THANK YOU. Now all thats left is one last push and Jacobs Well will be done.

Jacobs Well is almost done!

At the finish line are the homeless moms and children waiting to call Jacobs Well home! They will receive a call from us as soon as the rooms are ready! They are mere weeks away from their beautiful home, and they have no idea. But you do. And together with you we are pressing on toward that finish line for their sakes. In the past few weeks, over $125,000 has come in, dropping the total left to raise to just $150,000. If 1,000 folks gave $150 each, wed be done!!! (doing the math makes it look so easy) And we will finish this building project debt free thanks to you. Were almost there - and 12 families are almost home!

Ready and Waiting

You know how hard it is to wait for something you need badly. What if your need was a safe place for you and your children, and the wait was for that one phone call? These are calls Vision House has received recently - calls that put these families on our waiting list, in line for a fresh start and hope for their future:
Jessica, a single mom with a teenage girl and a new little baby boy, has one night left in a motel that a church friend paid for. She is struggling to take her teenager to school each day because she never knows where theyll be sleeping that night. People have given them food, but theres no place to cook it. They can only take with them enough to move from place to place. Shayla, an 18-year-old single mom, has two little ones and is attempting to flee a domestic violence situation. She has been bouncing from place to place while she waits to find permanent housing for herself and her children. Melinda has two children and is expecting a third. She has been calling around and cant find anywhere with immediate availability except for Tent City, which is where it looks like she will end up. Theyre almost home. Please consider making a gift to help finish Jacobs Well. You can help end the wait for 12 homeless moms and their children, and place them in their new homes, restore their lives, and give them hope for the future.

THE ALMQUISTS: Sharing Our Blessings

We first heard about Jacobs Well at a meeting at CRISTA in early 2011. We were greatly impressed by Vision House, the planning that had gone into building and the many volunteers including general contractors who inspired us to be a part of this project. To see the enthusiasm, supplies and equipment donated, and the speed at which the building was going up, really got us excited.
What has encouraged us to stay involved has been the ongoing relationships with fellow volunteers, the tireless leadership of Don Ricker, Bob Sime and Ted Almquist this project and hearing the testimonies of moms and how they have gone from being homeless and hopeless to being able to care for themselves and their kids. While we understand what this must mean to the mom, it is nearly impossible to imagine what this means in the lives of these precious children, both now and in their future. To be part of a ministry that has such an amazing success rate has been both motivating and a tremendous blessing. Our hearts go out to these moms and kids and if sharing our blessings with them is helpful, then we are again blessed. Vision House Jacobs Well is clearly one of Gods works and we look forward to continuing to support it after it is open.

BACK TO SCHOOL!
For many children, one of the barriers to success in school is not having the supplies they need. You can help send Vision House kids to school well-prepared to learn with a backpack filled with new school supplies.
This year we have the added joy of supplying our new Jacobs Well families and several alumni families! This will launch them into the school year, keep them supplied all year, plus equip new families moving in throughout the year. Kids are all in various schools and of various ages preschool through high school. If you or your church, organization or office would like to help homeless children with supplies for their new school year, please contact Lisa Gary for a supply list at 425.228.6356 or lisag@vision-house.org. Deadline for donations is August 15th. You can contribute financially, too! To donate, go to www.NoHomelessKids.org and mention Backpacks, or mail a check to Vision House. Thank you!
Michael is packed up and super excited for school to start!
