These are words that you, as busy child care providers, are very familiar with. Have you ever stopped to think about how many times food is handled before it gets to a child's plate? Based on Serving Safe Food in Child Care developed by the National Food Service Management Institute and the USDA Fight Bac program, this eye-opening and interactive workshop will share a four step process for keeping the foods served to young children in the child care setting safe. Join us as we explore strategies that will help prevent food-borne illness in children... and ourselves! Following this presentation will be an overview of the Child and Adult Care Food Program, including time for questions. This workshop satisfies the annual training requirement for CACFP-participating FDC/GFDC providers. Prior to the start of the workshop there will be a pot-luck dinner, beginning at 6:00, for those who wish to bring a dish to pass! If you cant attend Recipes for Disaster, there is another upcoming option to satisfy your annual CACFP training requirement: SUNY Videoconference : Health, Safety and Nutrition with a Focus on Childhood Obesity September 26 at CAPC in Watertown or BOCES in Ogdensburg.
