1) 40th Chief Justice of India (CJI) appointed : P. Sathasivam appointed as the Next Chief Justice of India. 2) New PM of Palestine : Rami Hamdallah replaced Salam Fayyad who had left the office of Prime Minister in April 2013 and formally quit now. 3) New PM of Pakistan : Nawaz Sharif sworn in as the Prime Minister of Pakistan. 4) New Australian Prime Minister Appointed : Kevin Rudd. 5) John Ashe elected as the President of UN General Assembly for its 68th Session. 6) New FBI Director : James Comey appointed as next FBI director by Barack Obama. 7) New Chief of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) : Avinash Chander. Avinash Chander, will succeed V.K. Saraswat. 8) Susan Elizabeth Rice Appointed as the National Security Adviser to Obama. 9) New Chairman of IBA : K R Kamath Re-Elected as the Chairman of Indian Banks' Association (IBA). 10) New Chairman of LIC : The Government of India appointed SK Roy as the new Chairman of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). 11) New President of Iran : Hassan Rohani Won Presidential Elections of Iran. 12) Infosys appointed Narayan Murthy as Executive Chairman of the Board. 13) New Chairman of Air Asia India Appointed : Subramanian Ramadorai.

Awards:
1) Euro International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award : Kevin Barry, the Irish author won 100000 Dublin Literary Award. 2) World Street Food Congress Award : Ashok Shah and Vijay Chaudhary won the Award. 3) Knighthood Award of Britain : Anish Kapoor, the Indian-origin sculptor was honoured with Knighthood, which is the highest honour of Britain. He was conferred the award by the Queen Elizabeth II. 4) Walter Scott Prize 2013 : Tan Twan Eng won this prize for his Novel The Garden of Evening Mists. 5) Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy received the prestigious United Nations Public Service Award for his mass contact programme initiative. 6) 21st Century Achievement Award 2013 : The jury of International Data Group (IDG), Computerworld Honors Laureate selected UIDAI for 21st Century Achievement Award 2013 under the category Economic Development.

1) ICC Champions Trophy 2013 : India Beat England to Win ICC Champions Trophy 2013 at Birmingham. 2) French Open 2013: A. Rafael Nadal won his 8th Men's Singles Tittle of the French Open Tennis Tournament. Nadal beat Spanish David Ferrer. B. Serena Williams won the Women's Singles title of French Open Tennis tournament. In the final, she defeated Maria Sharapova. C. Bob and Mike Bryan won Doubles Title at French Open 2013. 3) Indian Girl's team won the Gold medal in the Slovak Junior ITTF Open Table Tennis tournament held in Senec, Slovakia. In the title clash, the Indian Girls, beat Serbia. 4) Raghav Joneja, became the Youngest Indian to climb Everest at the age of 15 Years. 5) Thailand Open Grand Prix : India's Srikanth K clinched the Thailand Open Grand Prix Gold Badminton trophy. In the Men's Singles title clash, 13th seed Srikanth defeated top seed Boonsak Ponsana. 6) Manjeet Singh bagged a Silver medal for India at the 3rd China Open boxing tournament. 7) Sebastian Vettel on 10 June 2013 won the Canadian Grand Prix at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal. 8) India topped in the medal tally in the Junior Asian Wrestling Championship by winning 17 medals in the tournament.

1) 39th G8 Summit held at Lough Erne in Northern Ireland. 2) 29th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum to be held here in November 2013 in Kochi, Kerala. 3) The Import Duty on Gold and Platinum hiked from 6 to 8 Percent. 4) First All-Women Police Station became Functional in Itanagar. 5) China Developed the Fastest Computer of the World Called Tianhe-2. 6) Reserve Bank of India extended the restriction on advance against gold on cooperative banks set to curb the demand for gold. 7) M. Veerappa Moily launched the Direct Benefit Transfer for LPG (DBTL) Scheme in 18 districts on 1 June 2013 at Tumkur near Bangalore. 8) The United States of America exempted India and eight other countries from sanctions for importing oil from Iran. Countries are India, China, Malaysia, South Korea, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Turkey, and Taiwan. 9) The Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh, visited Japan in May 2013 for the Annual Summit of the Prime Ministers. 10) RBI penalised Axis Bank, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank for rule violations. 11) BSNL decided to put an end to the 160 years old Telegraph Services in India. 12) First-Ever Chinese Film Festival Inaugurated in New Delhi.
