KEYNOTES:

Fredericks batting just .220 against him and have scored five runs against the Mudcats lefty, who has a 3.21 ERA against the Keys. JOHNNY BE QUICK: Keys outfielder Johnny Ruettiger stole two bases in the Keys last game at Myrtle Beach (8/6), improving his season total to 33, third best in the Carolina League and four steals out of second place. Ruettigers been efficient on the basepaths, too, successfully swiping bags when he runs 83 percent of the time. NOODLIN FOR MUDCATS: Keys starter Zach Davies is 1-0 with a 3.55 ERA in a pair of starts against Carolina this season, beating the Mudcats on May 5 despite allowing five runs in that game and receiving a no-decision at Carolina on June 24, when he threw seven scoreless innings and fanned six. HOME WRECKERS: With 14 of their final 24 games at home, the Keys will need to play well at Harry Grove Stadium to secure a playoff berth. Currently trailing Wilmington by a half game for the Norths second-half playoff bid, the Keys have lost five straight home games, seven of their last nine and nine of their last 12. Theyre 7-15 at home in the second half and have yet to win a home series this half.
