NEW DELHI: Tearing into the UPA
government, Gujarat Chief Minister
Narendra Modi on Sunday said that the
government at the center cannot provide
national security to its citizens.
Stating that while the youth of the nation is
worried about the nation's future, Modi said
he was worried about the future of the
youth. In an attempt to energise the youth
of the nation Modi made those present at
the rally chant, "We can, will do."
Raking up the incident of Pakistan violating
cease fire and killing soldiers, Modi said
that when soldiers were beheaded earlier
this year, the Prime Minister Manmohan
Singh assured that a repeat will not be
allowed. "I ask the PM, what now," he hit
out.
Modi mocked at External Affairs Minister
Salman Khurshid's visit to China and his welcoming Pakistan's delegation in Jaipur. He
questioned the protocol that compelled the minister to honour the two nations after
repeated tension between the neighbours.
"What kind of protocol is feeding Biryani to Pakistan, whose troops beheaded our

soldiers," he asked.
Modi also brought up the case of Italian marines being allowed to leave India, even while
a trial on them was underway. "UPA government cannot provide security to nation, it is
neck deep in vote-bank politics," he reiterated.
Congress has 'excluded' everyone from growth, which is why economists are now talking
about 'inclusive growth', he said. "Development is the only way ahead. In development
lies the solution to all problems," he added.
Taking a jibe at UPA government's flagship Food Bill, Modi said that Congress has
reduced the nation to a state where food security is required. "When Atalji was the PM, a
poor man did not have to worry about food," he said.
Modi said that Congress should learn from Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh
about how to effectively use Public Distribution System. "This will help ensure that food
reaches the poor," he said.
Borrowing former Andhra CM NT Rama Rao's slogan Modi emphasized the need for a
Congress-free India. "NTR encouraged anti Congress politics. It was due to him that a
non Congress government became a reality," he said.
The government has only one religion, and that is India first, he said. Talking on the
issue of Telangana, Modi said that formation of smaller states like Chhattisgarh,
Jharkhand and Uttarakhand took place with 'both sides happy.' "When other states were
divided during Atalji's rule both sides were happy. What happened during the bifurcation
of Andhra Pradesh," he said.
"Congress has completely ignored Seemandhra's concerns, it has betrayed the people
of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana," he said.
Condemning the detaining of BJP leader Arun Jaitley in Kashmir, Modi questioned,
"Kishtwar is burning. Who is responsible for this unrest in the valley?."
Kicking of BJP's south India campaign for the 2014 general elections, Modi said, "The Rs
5 registration fee will be used for Uttarakhand relief." "Andhra Pradesh has used the
rally to the optimum," he said.
Expressing regret over not being able to admit all in the rally ground Modi said, "Many
young people are waiting outside because there is not enough space here. I want to tell
them I have space in my heart."
Modi said, "People have lost trust in the political leadership. The central government has
caused a trust deficit."
This is the Gujarat strongman's first public meeting in the Andhra Pradesh capital after
being appointed BJP's poll panel chief in June.
