OBJECTIVES
The main concern of the teacher education program is to respond to the need for competent and skilled elementary and high school teachers in both curricular and extra-curricular fields. The College specifically aims: 1. to produce graduates equipped with knowledge and skills to be globally competitive, efficient, and effective teacher professionals; 2. To instill in students Christian values and love of God necessary for their social growth; and 3. To develop Teacher Professionals with total commitment and love for service, who constantly seek for innovation in enriching the teaching profession.

This course is designed to acquaint the students with the various trends and approaches in literature and to let them appreciate the Philippine literature as a part of their cultural heritage. It is also a study of literary genres as exemplified by selected literary texts from different regions of the Philippines at the different era in the Philippine literary history. III. COURSE OBJECTIVES AND STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES:

Trace the history and development of Philippine literature from the past to present through systematic mapping; Evaluate on the different influences in literature brought about by colonizers; Relate with the importance of studying Philippine Literature as part of the Filipino cultural heritage; Demonstrate appreciation of Philippine Literature by performing dance, drama and other cultural activities; and Develop maximum participation in group activities to be conducted. COURSE REQUIREMENTS: 1. 2. 3. 4. Class Attendance is a must. A minimum of 3 quizzes every periodic coverage is needed. An overall recitation will be conducted every periodic coverage eventually. In this 3 unit subject, only 9 unexcused absences are allowed. In case the student has incurred these allowable absences, he is considered FA (failure due to absences).
VII. BASES OF EVALUATION: The grading system is based on the following criteria: Class Standing (Quizzes, Assignments, Projects, Seat Works) = 60% Examinations (Prelim, Midterm, Pre-final, Final) = 40% __________ 100%
