International Welcome Programme 2013


The International Welcome Programme is designed to provide you with the information you will need to make your stay and study as an international student at Newcastle University as easy and enjoyable as possible. The International Welcome Programme takes place between 1720 September 2013.

Airport Meet and Greet Service


As part of the Welcome Programme we operate a Meet and Greet Service from Newcastle International Airport between 1719 September 2013. More information on this service and how you can register to use it can be found here: www.ncl.ac.uk/international/prearrival/welcome

Information sessions
The information sessions are designed to help you settle into your new life in Newcastle as quickly as possible, and cover many of the practical issues you will need to deal with during your first few weeks at Newcastle University. You must attend one of the Welcome! sessions in order to find out how to complete the Registration process at the University. This is the only session that provides this information. You are advised to attend as many of the other available sessions as you can. University English Language Assessment


The University English Language Assessment (UELA) is for all new students at the University for whom English is not their first language. Assessment sessions will take place following your arrival in September. Those taking place during the International Welcome Programme are listed below. The following English Language Assessment sessions take place in the Herschel Building, Lecture Theatre 3: zz Wednesday 18 September 2013: 1.00pm3.00pm / 3.00pm5.00pm zz Thursday 19 September 2013: 10.00am12.00pm / 1.00pm3.00pm / 3.00pm5.00pm zz Friday 20 September 2013: 10.00am12.00pm / 1.00pm3.00pm / 3.00pm5.00pm Further sessions will take place from Monday 23 September onwards.
