Abstract: Crisis management as a theoretical discipline and form of applicative management has been intensively developing in the last two decades. On the other hand, crisis and crisis management are relatively new concepts in Serbia in
both theoretical and practical sense. Their implementation is accompanied by terminological confusion that refers to some basic phenomena - emergency, crisis,
conflict and disaster, and different kinds of management aimed at monitoring and
controllling contingencies and dangers. The purpose of the paper is to contribute
to conceptual and terminological demarcation in this field.
Key words: crisis, emergency, conflict, disaster, crisis management, risk management, security management, issues management, bussines continuity management.
