Hi Everyone,
On Tuesday the 13th of August there was a regional chess tournament held at our school. Seven schools competed and Riddells Creek PS altogether had 18 players participating. Winters Flat Primary came first and subsequentially qualified for the State Titles. Riddells Creek Dragons came in second with a difference of 1.5 points and Candlebark finished a very close third. The top scorers for Riddells Creek were Bailey 6/7, Hamish 6/7, Murphy 5/7, Jesse 4.5/7 and they all receiving medallions for their effort. Bailey was also awarded another medallion for finishing 3rd in the individual section. Everyone in the whole team tried their hardest on the day and even though they finished second Mr Gibson said our students did a wonderful job. We have lots of players in grade 4 and 5 so we are already looking forward to next year's competition with anticipation. Our winning team pictured above were Bailey Soderman, Hamish Nicoll, Murphy Cowburn, Jesse Horton Also congratulations to Sharna Ford and Shannon Horton for making it through to the last 16 in the Victorian Indoor Netball U13 squad. Its all systems go for our production of Alice. Details will be sent home next week regarding performance nights, catering and costs.
