CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION

A. Background Field work was carried out, as a post-test on the stages of learning that has been carried out for three years in Mining Geology unit SMK N 2 Depok. This lab is used as a parameter on the ability of students to understand the concepts and knowledge learned during these three years. So that students are expected to have the abilities and skills that mature before entering the industry at half seven and eight. Achievement for the industry preparedness world, not just the light of sector skills and skill, but also considered through the air of independence and social aspects, which also launched through the field practicum program. In addition to these goals, the most important of these is the field practicum to meet the semester grade 6 as a mandatory prerequisite before students carry out the practice of industrial employment in the industry in semester seven and eight.

B. Purpose and Objectives In this field practicum, the student should be able to: a. Know and can apply learning while in SMK N 2 Depok b. Increase the use of skill and concept mapping mapping tool. c. Making geological and topographical maps in the context of small business education. d. Geological mapping and mineral prospecting

C. Time Frame Field work was carried out for five days, commencing on 20 to 24 May 2013.

D. The layout and accomplished Location This field work is located in the western and Jiwo Jiwo east, Bayat, Klaten, Central Java. While the location of the mesh base camp itself is located in Gajah Mada University, Banyu Uripan, Bayat, Central Java.

The location, about 35 miles east of SMK N 2 Depok, which can be reached by four-wheel drive and two-wheel takes approximately 90 minutes.

F. Safety Aspect of safety is a very important aspect, therefore students are required to meet safety, both safety and safety equipment person. The following safety aspects that must be met: a.
