Hi Everyone,
On Monday we concluded our our Kinder Kapers programme. Preschool students and their parents have been invited to attend several sessions at school as a precursor to their transition programme later in the year. Our new students enjoyed a variety of experiences and had the opportunity to mix with our current preps. A very big thank you to Leanne Cordy who organises our transition programme and to Sandra Stewart, Tarryn Rymer, Anna Paul and their classes for welcoming our new students and making sure their first taste of RCPS was a positive one. There have been some very mean winter bugs around this year with lots of children and staff being very unwell. Sick bay has been extremely busy. Sometimes the only way to get over these winter ills is to stay warm and rest in bed. The school has been buzzing today with an amazing cavalcade of fairy tale and fantasy characters. It is wonderful to see everyone joining in the spirit of our school production. Rehearsals are also coming along very well. Last week I watched a very silly tea party and saw the 3/4 begin one of their production numbers. There were some great dance moves. I would like to remind everyone that fluorescent sneakers are not part of our school uniform. They look great and are very fashionable, but are best kept for weekend or after school wear. Students need to wear black school shoes or basic runners. Parents using the drop off zone in the service road are reminded that it is no longer angle parking and you are required to depart as soon as your children have alighted safely. You may need to help them out of the car, but in consideration of others, please move on as quickly as possible. If you need to come into the school, please park elsewhere. This applies both before and after school. Double parking is not permitted on the right hand side of the service road. The Division athletics will be on Thursday 19th of September at the VUT Werribee Athletics Track . 1st and 2nd placegetters will be heading off. (1st place for relays). On behalf of the school community I would like to extend our condolences to Gayle Ryan and her family on the untimely passing of her brother Wayne McCann.

Well done Danny and his band of merry men and mothers! The sausage sizzle on Saturday made $519; brilliant for a cold damp winter morning. There will be a Fathers Day stall on Thursday 29th August in the Banksia building. If you can help price and pack the gifts, this will be done on Friday 23rd August immediately after school drop off at Jude Ellis house (ring Jude 0417807961 to RSVP) or if you can set up or man the stall, this will be done from 8.30am on Thursday 29th August until snack. Dont forget to send your children to school on 29th with some money for the stall!!! On Election Day (Saturday 7 th September) the Grade 6 parents will be cooking sausages while Parent Club sell cakes. Any donations of cupcakes, slices, biscuits, or any other sweet treat would be wonderful. Please bring your donations on the day or text Guinevere (0412 115293) for collection. On your marks, get set, BAKE!! Dont forget the shopping tour on 26th October: A kids & hassle free shopping experience $70 for a ticket which includes lunch and morning tea and maybe one or two other surprises. Shop for Christmas child-free for the day.
