Crime scene created by Final Year students Using Explosives blast It was about 9.50a.m ,local information was given to HOI of AIFS about the crime of explosive blast in the park of the campus .soon the HOI informed the M.SC Ist year students to visit the crime scene and start the investigation. We reached there in few minutes along with the HOI and form the team for investigation. we found the Dead Body of Lady(dummy) near the explosive site at the ditch. On the basis of location and activity, it was the primary outdoor microscopic crime scene. so our main function as the responding person is to know about the brief history of the case and to perform preliminary activities like Safety is the primary concern Assist the victim Protect the crime scene with barrier tapes Detain the witnesses Note any change in the crime scene Seize all entries and exists Assign one student to prevent the entry of unauthorized personels

After securing the crime scene we along with HOI did a walk through Prepared the initial reconstruction Noted the temporary evidence like smell of the of the gas and air. etc

After this we start the documentation of the crime scene, This can be done using the photography, videography and sketching. The sketching was done by using polar and base line method. The dead body was found near the main explosive area about 1feet.in the direction of N-E and was 3 feet away from the electric pole near by in direction towards NW Searching the Evidence Soon we had started the searching for the physical evidences and the evidences we collects the 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Un-burnt explosives and fuels Fire debris Can Piece of paper Evidences that showing the identity of victim No additional foot prints found on the mud. We collected the evidences and packaged them in a polythene bag with label and proper documentation .and send them to AIFSL for further investigation vide ref. no AIFS/IRT/01/07/2013 EXAMINATION AT AMITY INSTITUTE OF FORENSIC SCIENCE LABAROTARY In AIFSL we perform the tests to find out the explosive material that was used for blast using TLC (thin layer chromatography) as an indicative test. After perform confirmatory tests like GCMS (Gas chromatography and mass spectroscopy) and FT IR (fourier transmission and infrared spectroscopy).

CONCLUSION : the tests we performed in the lab , we had reached to the conclusion that this was the local fire cracker bomb with rope casing and the composition of gunpowder ( potassium nitrate, sulphur and charcoal) planted in the ditch.

BRIEF HISTORY OF THE CASE: As OBSEVATION :

Scene of incident: It is the campus park area, the blast occurred in the drainage near to the electric pole at 9.50 a.m on 05/07/2013,the crime scene was secured by barrier tapes & all entries and exists were closed and following observation were recorded. Entire scene of incident was recorded by photograph and by videography Rough and then final sketch of crime scene Searching: the list of evidence searched & collected are as 1. Fragmented pieces 2. Unexplosive fire burns 3. Cloths 4. Plastic canes 5. Soil samples All the samples were packaged in evidence collection bags with proper documentation and sealed by AIFSL/IRT/300 and handed over to I-O. for chain of custody. Evidence Examination: for the purpose of chemical examination of the evidences collected vide ref no AIFSL/IRT/300,Extracts were taken from

samples. the indicative test TLC is done using silica to detects explosive chemical. the confirmatory tests like GCMS and HPLC were conducted . Conclusion: it is the fire cracker bomb with rope casing and its composition is Gunpowder(potassium nitrate ,sulphur,charcoal)
