Post-Game Quotes
ANGELS MANAGER MIKE SCIOSCIA: What did you think of Vargas tonight? I think he pitched. They got some baserunners off him and he had to pitch out of some jams, but when he had to, he got a couple double-play balls. Lefthanded hitters gave him trouble; they had good at-bats against him, but I thought Jason did a th great job. It was great to see him get into the 7 and get to 100 pitches, and he maintained his stuff. He pitched, and that thats when hes at his best. Is this him getting back to where he was before? We hope so. His stuff was ok the first couple times (back from injury). It was comparable to today, it wasnt like his stuff picked up that much. Well see how he comes out of this. The important thing isnt so much getting there, which he did, but how you come out of it and how he is for the next start. He did a nice job. I think Michael Kohn gets two big outs to save a run, and both Gutierrez and Boshers looked good.
