At the end of this section, you will be able to: Study the different terminologies related to Internet Web Browser Apply the necessary steps to disable Pop-up blockers, pass the ISOI Compatibility Check and Enable Cookies.
Title Bar
The blue bar at the top of the window is called the Title Bar. This contains the name of the Web site.This Title bar helps you to know where you are.
Menu Bar
The Menu Bar is the horizontal band, which contains commands and options that can be chosen. In Internet Explorer, these menus are File, Edit, View, Favorites, Tools, and Help. Clicking on each of the menus will drop down a menu that will help you to access different features of the Internet Explorer program.
Toolbar
A toolbar is a set of tools that are grouped together on the main window of an application. Typically, the toolbar is arranged into a horizontal strip called a bar. The Tools/Icons on a toolbar provide quick and convenient access to commonly-performed operations. The Buttons are the most common kind of tool/icon on a toolbar, even though menus and drop-down lists are also found on some of the buttons. In addition to the toolbars that are a part of an operating system or an application, some software developers or third parties provide supplementary toolbars that can be downloaded and installed, for example, the Google Toolbar, the Yahoo Toolbar, the MSN Toolbar, or one of the many other toolbars. The third party toolbars are available for almost all the popular browsers and provide the following features: A search box for quick searching An AutoLink button to automatically look up addresses, and other information found on the current browser page A pop-up blocker Automatic filling (autofill) of names, addresses, etc. on web forms Spell check of the text that you type into a web form Quick translation of English words in other languages, etc.
Address Bar
The address bar is one of the main toolbars in any Web browser. It allows you to enter the URL (address) of a website that you wish to visit (for example, http://www.schoolofinsurance.in) Then click on the Go button, which is to the right of the address bar. Clicking on this button will take you to the website you wish to visit.
Software Requirements
To view this demo following softwares are required: Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 and later Macromedia Flash player (version 6.0 or later)
If these softwares are not installed in the system, then log on to www.adobe.com to download Macromedia Flash Player and www.microsoft.com to download Internet Explorer.
System Requirements
After studying the terminologies of a Web browser, let us now understand the system requirement of ISOI. Before logging into www.schoolofinsurance.in, user needs to first disable Pop-up blockers. To disable Pop-up blockers you need to perform the following steps: Notes: Google and Yahoo Toolbar is used as an example for our demo. The same steps may not hold true for other toolbars. Mentioned below are the steps that you need to refer in order to manually standardize the system requirements.
Step5) Select the Popups Okay Check box appearing under the More tab Step6) Click the OK button from the Toolbar Options dialogue box Step8) Click on the Pop-Up Blocker icon appearing on the Yahoo Toolbar Step9) Click the Enable Pop-Up Blocker option
After performing the above steps, you need to enter your User ID and Password. Later click on the Login button to access www.schoolofinsurance.in. After Logging in, if you observe this symbol against ISOI Compatibility Check option, it indicates that ISOI Compatibility Check has failed. Perform the following steps to pass this test.
Step8) Select the Enable radio button appearing under Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins Step9) Select the Enable radio button appearing under Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting Step10) Click the OK button from the Security Settings dialogue box Step11) Click the Yes button from the Warning! dialogue box Step12) Click the OK button from the Internet Options dialogue box o Click on the Cancel button to Relogin
After performing the above steps, you need to enter your User ID and Password again. Later click on the Login button to access www.schoolofinsurance.in. After Logging in, if you observe this symbol against Cookies Enabled option, it indicates that Cookies are not enabled on your machine. Perform the following steps to Enable Cookies.
Step6) Click the OK button from the Advanced Privacy Settings dialogue box
Step7) Click the OK button from the Internet Options dialogue box o Click on the Cancel button to Relogin
After performing the above steps, you need to enter your User ID and Password again. Later click on the Login button to access www.schoolofinsurance.in.
After Logging in, if you observe this symbol against Javascript Enabled option, it indicates that Javascript are not enabled on your machine. Perform the following steps to Enable Javascript.
Step5) Select the Enable radio button appearing under Active scripting Step6) Click the OK button from the Security Settings dialogue box Step7) Click the Yes button from the Warning! dialogue box Step8) Click the OK button from the Internet Options dialogue box o Click on the Close (X) button to Relogin
You need to have the latest version of Java (JRE 6 onwards) installed in the machine. Java can be downloaded and installed for free from the following link www.java.com
After performing the above steps, you need to enter your User ID and Password again. Later click on the Login button to access www.schoolofinsurance.in. After Logging, if the sessions are active on the machine, then the following buttons appear on the screen: Click on the Abort button to go to the login page Click on the Proceed button in order to continue
