DNA Structure

DNA is made of 3 things:

deoxyribose SUGAR 2. PHOSPHATE 3. Nitrogenous BASES

1.

The phosphates and sugars are strung together to make a backbone. The backbone is on the outside of the molecule.

Stuck to each sugar is a base. The bases hold the actual genetic code. There are 4 different bases:
1. 2. 3. 4.

Adenine (A) Thymine (T) Cytosine (C) Guanine (G)

The bases stick together with hydrogen bonds

A always pairs with T C always pairs with G

When two of these strands stick together, you get a complete DNA molecule!
