Unit 1 Overview - "Allah's World Of Wonder"

Have you ever picked up a beautiful seashell, noticed the colorful whorls and patterns on it, and thought, Wow! Who made this unique creation? How was it made? This unit, our kindergarteners will experience awe and wonder as they learn about the perfection in the Universe around them, created by and belonging to Allah (SWT). They will explore it through their natural curiosity and realize that they are surrounded by Allahs signs in His creation. They will also discover the growth and change, or tarbiyah that takes place in Allahs universe around them, allowing it to grow and renew itself (plant and animal life cycles).

Important Notes:

Our Solid Shape Museum Collection has begun! Students have been asked to look around their environment and bring in small objects (or photos of objects) that they can find in the following solid shapes: pyramids (square or triangle based), cones, prisms (rectangular or triangular), cylinders, cubes, spheres, ovoids (e.g. cooked egg), and ellipsoids (e.g. seeds). If possible, please label the object by attaching a small piece of masking tape with your child's name written on it.

Please remember to send in a fresh fruit and vegetable snack with your child each day. Some students are still coming in without, and unless we provide it for them, are very hungry at the end of the day.

Please label your child's backpack, lunch, and outerwear (coats, gloves, etc.) with his/her name.
