British Government Policy – “Every Child Matters” and how this translates into Local
Government policy.

10.15 Hilary Cox – Deputy Leader of Dorset CC: Long term strategic issues

11.05 Youth Opportunities Fund – policy imperatives and Dorset CC experience – Simon Fraiz-
Brown

11.40 Youth Justice System – Clive Hawkins, Head of Youth Offending Team & Will Burnett, Dorset

13.45 Delegates visit Theme Stations manned by Dorset CC staff and local rapporteurs to
compare their towns’ experiences in these subjects (3 towns at each station concurrently)

17.15 Concluding comments followed by walk to Dorset County Museum

17.45 Reception in the Victorian Gallery to meet Dorset County Councillors and Youth Workers

ground”

10.30 Over coffee - 5 minute presentations by Delegates on youth provision in their towns.
Discussion of needs and whether they are met

12.00 Conclusions drawn from the discussion

12.20 Youth Opportunities Fund: Case studies at working level - Simon Fraiz-Brown

12.45 Youth and Democracy: Youth Parliament & Sherborne Youth Forum – John Reynolds,
