APPSC Group 1 Syllabus Details APPSC Group 1 Syllabus Details: Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission APPSC conducts

s Group 1 exam for various posts of Subordinate and Ministrial Services in A.P State. The preliminary exam consists of General Studies & Mental Ability which is of Objective Type and Main examination consists of five conventional type papers with degree standard syllabus. They are Paper I ,Paper II,Paper III,Paper IV and Paper V and one General English paper with S.S.C standard syllabus.APPSC Group I exam Syllabus details given below Syllabus of the Written examination: Preliminary Examination General Studies and Mental Ability 1. World Geography and Geography of India with a focus on AP. 5. Indian polity and Economy including the countrys political system- rural development Planning and economic reforms in India. 6. Paper V Data Interpretation and Problem Solving 1. Data appreciation and interpretation using ratios, percentages and averages. 2. Drawing conclusions from the data present in tabular, graphical and diagrammatical forms and to point out deficiencies, limitations or inconsistencies therein. 3. Problem solving using the following: a) Sequences and Series: Analogies of numbers and alphabets, completion of blank spaces in a:b,c,d, odd thing out, missing number in a sequence or series. b) Coding and decoding problems: A given word or group of letters in English are to be coded or decoded based on the given code(s). c) Date, time and arrangement problems: Calender and clock problems, blood relationship and seating arrangements. Passage Analysis: A duly structured situation will be presented to the candidates and they will be asked to analyze and suggest their own solution to the problem arising out of situation. Alternatively, they may be called upon to prove the understanding of the situation by answering certain searching questions based on the situation. 1) Preliminary Examination: The preliminary exam is a screening test which is conducted to shortlist the candidates for the next stage of examination. The exam consists of one objective type paper. Minimum qualifying marks will be given for reservation candidates as per the rules. Physical standards: Candidates must be physically and medically fit according to the physical standards of the APPSC examination. Note: (i) No maximum age limit for SCs, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs (Other than BCCs & BCMs), BCCs, BCMs and Destitute Widows of all castes. (ii) Age relaxation of 5 years will be applicable to persons affected by the ban orders. (iii) Candidates not belonging to SCs, STs, MBC/DCs, BCs (Other than BCCs & BCMs), BCCs and BCMs (i.e. others) who have put in five years of service in the State/Central Government are not eligible to apply even though they are within the age limit.

APPSC Group 1 Exam Selection Process Details APPSC Group 1 Exam Selection Process Details: Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission APPSC conducts Group 1 exam for various posts of Subordinate and Ministrial Services in A.P State. Candidates who are eligible and interested may apply through online application mode. The selection process consists written examination, Oral test and Final selection. APPSC Group 1 exam selection procedure details given below 1) Written examination: The written examination conducted by APPSC in 2 stages which includes Preliminary and Mains examination. The Preliminary examination is conducted in order to shortlist the number of candidates for Main Examination. This exam comprising of General Studies & Mental Ability & the paper contains 150 objective type questions carries 150 maximum marks, 2 hours is the time duration for the examination. Candidates who qualified in first stage preliminary exam are selected for second stage Main examination in 1:50 ratio. The Main examination consists of five conventional type papers with conventional type questions .They are Paper I, II, III, IV, V and one General English paper .The General English paper is of qualifying in nature and the paper is in S.S.C standard and this paper marks are not counted for Final Ranking. Each Paper carries 150 marks and 3 hours time duration .Total marks for Main examination is 750 marks. Separate minimum qualifying marks will be given for Reservation candidates. 2) Interview/Oral Test: Candidates who scored minimum qualifying marks in Main Examination will be called for Interview in 1:2 ratio on merit basis. Maximum marks for Interview is 75. Total marks for both written exam and interview is 825. Minimum qualifying marks for SC/ST/PH candidates is 247.50/825 , for BCs 288.75/825 and others 330/825 . In this interview commission will ask questions from attitudes, decision

makings, leadership qualities etc. The final selection will be made on the basis of the total marks obtained by the candidates in Written Examination, and Oral Test taken together & subjected to the rule of reservation of appointments wherever it applies and number of vacancies available, physical fitness and medical standards . Selected candidates may allotted in their positions. APPSC Group 2 Exam Syllabus Details APPSC Group 2 Exam Syllabus Details: Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission APPSC conducts Group 2 exam in Executive and Non Executive Cadre of AP State Govt Departments. The written examination is of objective type mode which includes Paper I, II & III. Syllabus of the Written Examination: Paper I General Studies: 1. General Science 2. Current Events of National and International Importance. 3. History of India and Indian National Movement. India and World Geography. 4. General Mental Ability. 5. Questions on General Science will cover General appreciation and understanding of science including matters of every day observation and experience, as may be expected of a well educated person who has not made a special study of any particular scientific discipline. In current events, knowledge of significant national and international events will be tested. In History of India, emphasis will be on broad general understanding of the subject in its social, economic and political aspects. Questions on Indian National Movement will relate to the nature and character of the nineteenth century resurgence, growth of Nationalism and attainment of independence. In geography emphasis will be on geography of India. Questions on geography of India will relate to physical, social and economic geography of the country, including the main features of the Indian agricultural and natural resources.
