NEWS FROM THE NEST

Directors Corner
I just wanted to say thank you to all of the families who made my first week at Eagles' Nest Early Learning Center so great. I am so excited and happy to be part of the Eagles' Nest team and look forward to getting to know each and everyone of you. Just a few reminders: We will be closed Monday September the 2nd in observance of Labor Day. September the 19th will be picture day at Eagles' Nest from 8-11. On a side note, I wanted let you know that a few of our teachers have decided to further their educational careers and are taking classes in Early Childhood Education. So a big Congratulations to Katie, Salina, Cindy, and Jill. We feel so fortunate to have such dedicated teachers on our staff. Thank you so much for allowing us the privilege of providing care to your children. Have a great month! Kim Staley

Preschool News
Really? - September already?!! This month the preschoolers will be learning about themselves and their five senses. They will be doing a wide variety of activities that explore each sense. They will also be learning about how their bodies work, themselves as individuals, and themselves as part of a family. We will be asking each child to bring in a picture of their family for our annual family tree. As always, check the parent communication board for details. There will be show and tell each week in September. The 19th is picture day. We are happy to welcome new classmates, Kade, Anabel, Cole, and Hayden. It's always fun to make new friends :) Have a great month!

Hello Toddler Families. In the month of August, the children had a variety of art experiences learning about our beautiful state of Colorado, such as: our majestic mountains, our state flower, and the state flag. The children also learned about the wonders of our oceans. This month, some of the goals we are working on include: expressing feelings and needs, using gentle hands, and exploring with our senses. Exploring in the sensory table is a popular activity in the toddler room. We use water, sand, and other materials with scoops, measuring cups, and funnels from dramatic play. These explorations support fine motor development, problem solving, and language skills. Our themes for this month are the five Senses, and all about me. For this months theme, we will be making scented shaker bottles. Transitions this month include Max transitioning to the twos side of the toddler room, and we would like to welcome our new friend Zoe to the ones side of the room. Just a reminder that picture day is September 19th. Have a Safe and Happy Labor Day. Thank you, The toddler room Ms.Tammy, Ms. Linda, Ms. Salina, and Ms. Kirsten
