I have many Vietnamese friends, most of whom are successful businessmen who own many valuable properties. I have noticed that those men share one interesting common purpose, similar to other Asian men, they work to accumulate wealth for their next generation. The factor that many of them are most concerned is the location of the property; and in recent years, they have started to pay attention to other factors such as the architecture purpose, interior design, or landscaping. However, according to my own observation, not a lot of them consider the criteria of community or neighbour is important, yet this is one of the deciding factors in measuring the civilised environment that the residents will live in. When It was first founded in the beginning of the 30s, the building of 740 Park Avenue in Manhattan,
America, was only a normal residential area for the upper class. However, from the 80s onwards, property value in this area skyrocketed, and now it is seen as the kingdom for those whose wealth values have at least reached the 100 million US dollars mark. The 4 years old Lotus, who is attending British International School and one of our Diamond Islands little residents, asked her mother: the bird, the duck, the chicken all have feathers. But only the duck can swim, the bird can fly, the chicken can not do anything, why? Her mom answered: Swimming and flying have nothing to do with feathers. Duck swims by its feet and bird flies by its wings
Another little resident of Diamond Island is 7 years old Bin. He is passionate about Kumon and loves drawing. His works usually revolve around powerful artillery armies and the superbly imaginative supper power of the Universe. Once during class, his teacher gave him this writing topic: Write down a note for your parents before going out with another member of the family so that they dont have to worry. Afterschool, Bin enthusiastically told his parents about a note written by one of his classmates: I am going out with Grandma. Mom and Dad please clean the house, make dinner, and do my homework.

Memory of
RUSSIA REUION
Ms Kim Loan and Mr Thanh Huy, both are residents of Diamond Island, had an idea of organising a community reunion for the people who used to work, study, and live in the Soviet Socialist Republics during the 70s and 80s. Thus on 6/5/2012, the reunion took place at 1960 Presidential Club - the community area for Diamond Islands residents.
The atmosphere was cozy and friendly as participants shared the memories of their days in Russia together. It was your presences that had left such good impression on this already memorable event.
