Purpose of LSAT Prep Course

The Law School Admission Test (LSAT) is a half-day standardized test consisting of five 35-minute sections of multiple choice questions and one 35-minute writing sample. It is designed to measure the skills considered essential for success in law school, including (i) reading and comprehending complex texts, (ii) managing time and organizing information, and (iii) processing information to reach logical conclusions. The LSAT Prep Course is a 12-hour non-credit course designed to help students become familiar with the content of the 2012 Law School Admission Test (LSAT) and develop strategies for taking on the exam. Although students cannot memorize specific information to do well on the LSAT, they can get the most out of their natural skills and abilities. By learning to recognize the skills needed for this exam, developing a test-taking strategy for each section component of the exam, and improving speed without sacrificing accuracy, you can prepare yourself with confidence to take the LSAT.

Course Content
Introductory Session: Provides an overview of the LSAT and the law school application process, together with the administration of a diagnostic test. Logical Reasoning Session: Breaks down the Logical Reasoning section of the exam, and provides both an overview of the Logical Reasoning portion of the LSAT and strategies for improving scores. Analytical Reasoning Session: Covers the Analytical Reasoning section of the LSAT (considered by many students to be the most difficult part of the exam) by providing strategies and diagramming techniques. Reading Comprehension Session: Discusses the Reading Comprehension section of the exam and corresponding strategies, plus other aspects of the law school application process (including the writing sample, letters of recommendation, personal statement, etc.).
