Learner Objectives: To understand, identify, and correctly pronounce sports-related


words.

Personal Aims: To clearly explain each activity. To speak very little.

Anticipated problems for students: Difficulty with text. Difficulty understanding activities.

Solutions: Offer help reading the text if necessary. Explain slowly and clearly on each
activity, go through an example each time.

Anticipated problems for teacher: Nerves, fidgeting, speaking too much.

Solutions: Begin lesson while seated. Take a deep breath, focus on observing.

each student, having them act out their sports one-
by-one for the rest of the students to guess.

2. In pairs, discuss your favorite and least favorite Engage 5 S-S, S-T

3. In pairs, match the Dallas team logos to the Study 3 S-S


sport. Feedback.

4. Read the text, then in pairs, answer the Study 10-12 S-S
questions about the text. Feedback.

5. In pairs, complete sports verbs word search. Study 5-7 S-S
