RASV Celebrates Women in Food and Agriculture

Women in Food and Agriculture Lunch on Sunday, 22 September 2013 This September the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) will host the inaugural Women in Food and Agriculture Lunch to unite and recognise women in the food and fibre sector. Presented by Rural Finance, the Lunch will take place on Sunday, 22 September during the 2013 Royal Melbourne Show at Melbourne Showgrounds. It features a prestigious panel of influential women in agriculture overseen by MC, Catherine Marriott, Managing Director of Influential Women, who will discuss What does food and the land mean to you, before opening questions up to the audience. Panelists for the Women in Food and Agriculture Lunch will include: Miranda Sharp, founder of Melbourne Farmers Markets; Adie Dawes-Birch, CEO, The Global Foundation; journalist and publisher Wendy Hargreaves; Lucy Manne, Co-Director, The Australian Youth Climate Coalition; and Suzy Martin, Co-Principal, Welcome Swallows Angus. RASV Manager of Epicurean Events, Ann Houlihan said, This event was conceived to recognise the many hard-working women in the food and fibre sector. The Women in Food and Agriculture Lunch is a celebration of the contribution women make to the agricultural industry, and will provide the audience with an opportunity to hear from major industry influencers and network with likeminded women. Melbourne chef, Nicky Reimer from Union Dining, has created an inspired menu for the lunch, which will feature product from Victorian female producers, served with Victorian wine, craft beer and cider. Award winning female artists, Jetty Road, will be making an appearance at the event. Limited tickets to the event are on sale at $60 to RASV members and $65 to non-members until Friday, 13 September.
