Title: Make yourself an ark. Genesis 6:9-22 This is the genealogy of Noah.

Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God. 10 And Noah begot three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. 11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. 12 So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.

The Ark Prepared

And God said to Noah, The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth. 14 Make yourself an ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch. 15 And this is how you shall make it: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits. 16 You shall make a window for the ark, and you shall finish it to a cubit from above; and set the door of the ark in its side. You shall make it with lower, second, and third decks. 17 And behold, I Myself am bringing floodwaters on the earth, to destroy from under heaven all flesh in which is the breath of life; everything that is on the earth shall die. 18 But I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall go into the arkyou, your sons, your wife, and your sons wives with you. 19 And of every living thing of all flesh you shall bring two of every sort into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female. 20 Of the birds after their kind, of animals after their kind, and of every creeping thing of the earth after its kind, two of every kind will come to you to keep them alive. 21 And you shall take for yourself of all food that is eaten, and you shall gather it to yourself; and it shall be food for you and for them. 22 Thus Noah did; according to all that God commanded him, so he did.

Among todays Scriptures, one thing we should never forget is that God said to Noah, Make yourself an ark.

Make yourself an ark! This is the Word of God emphasizing building an ark is work that benefits yourself.

Hearing the Word of God too is for myself, praying is also for myself, having faith and doing Gods work are all for myself, if all these works are for myself then I cannot say complaints or grumbling. If I go through hardship and work for others, then I would have complaints and grumblings, but if I go through hard work for myself, then I would not have complaints.

If so, then hearing todays Gods message is also for your own benefit and I hope you pay attention and accept the Word of God so that you may take the lead in saving your family, relatives and friends. I bless you with the name of the Lord.

The judgment by flood that eradicated the whole mankind was the work of God that no one even the angles of the Lord in heaven knew.

Only to Noah who was a just man, God appeared and secretly told about the judgment. The judgment by flood was the secret work of God which only Noah and God know.

God first reveals His secret administration to His servants who fear Him. Amos 3:7

Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.

God will show His secrets that are hidden in Him to those who believe only in God and those who fear God. When the time of judgment by flood, God revealed His secret to Noah and when the time of Sodom and Gomorrah, God revealed to Abraham and Lot. (Genesis 18:2021)

God revealed His great secret to Noah that He would judge the world of the day. Genesis 6:13

And God said to Noah, The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

God said to Noah, Make yourself an ark, and this Word of God was not given to Noahs wife, son or daughter in law. God said to Noah, Make yourself an ark, and therefore Noah alone received that message. After hearing this command from God, when Noah gathered his family to tell them what God commanded him his wife, his sons and his daughters in law did not argue him. They believed the Word of God as it is testified by Noah.

After God revealed the secret of great judgment of the day Noah, God made a covenant with Noah. Genesis 6:18-21 But I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall go into the arkyou, your sons, your wife, and your sons wives with you. 19 And of every living thing of all flesh you shall bring two of every sort into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female. 20 Of the birds after their kind, of animals after their kind, and of every creeping thing of the earth after its kind, two of every kind will come to you to keep them alive. 21 And you shall take for yourself of all food that is eaten, and you shall gather it to yourself; and it shall be food for you and for them.

When Noah received this Word of God and did; according to all that God commanded him, seeing this, God commanded Noah to enter into the ark.

Genesis 6:22-7:1 Thus Noah did; according to all that God commanded him, so he did. Footnotes: Then the LORD said to Noah, Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation.

The judgment by flood was a great judgment of Gods wrath which was never seen before in the history of mankind and it was a great disaster that destroyed all living things that have breath on the earth. It was a truly great disaster and sudden

change of the world yet it was an incident which gave prior notification of it thru Noah. Thus, when people could not escape from the judgment, it was not because they were not aware of it. Although God informed the mankind of the coming judgment, people did not listen and did not obey the Word of God and that was why they could not be saved. Getting married, building, buying and selling houses; for the people at the time were occupied with such things they did not give ears to the Word of God and could not understand Gods message.

Matthew 24:39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

Originally judgment by flood was not the punishment which God had in His mind, but because of the sons of God who freely married as they pleased and as a consequence man became flesh. Because of this God decided to judge the world by flood. The sons of God were from the lineage of Seth and the daughters of men were from the lineage of Cain. Seeing children born thru the marriage between these two, God called them flesh and pronounced that the Spirit of God shall not strive with man forever.

Genesis 6:3 And the LORD said, My Spirit shall not strive[a] with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.

Man is the being created according to the image of God and when God said man is indeed flesh, it means man is beast. To a beast, God does not breath into its nostrils His Spirit, namely, His breath.

Man without reason and understanding, we call him a beast. People who know nothing but my family, my son, my daughter, my wife, my things, if they do not even know their parents and neighbours, arent they beasts?

To man who became flesh God said his days shall be one hundred and twenty years. It is a declaration that God will shorten lifespan of human.

Here, what God meant by his days is not simply the length of lifespan of man, but it means a generation of one man.

After the flood, mans generation could not go over 120 years and the actual life expectancy of man decreased greatly.

The everyday life of mankind of the time was a life that totally forgot and excluded God. Although they called the name of God with their lips, they had no thanksgiving and they did not glorify God. Romans 1:21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.

People who live life without God are destined to be exterminated. Do you truly give thanks to God whether you are an elder, deaconess or deacon? As you pass by the day of Peace several times each year, how much did you give thanks to God? In the time of Noah the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. It means life of all men living on this earth was like this.

No matter how luxurious the house you live in may be, no matter how expensive the car you drive may be and even though you look like living life without lacking anything, from Gods point of view, they are all wearing the garment of corruptness and going to and fro. As we read Genesis 6:6, we know that God was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. It means God was so stifled He was out of breath. It is a very shocking expression to say that God was grieved in His heart. What went wrong to have such a rascal born in our family? You open the window and shed tears gazing out the window, but when your neighbours or other people see you, would they know how you feel? God finally made the decision and it was, The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Genesis 6:13 And God said to Noah, The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

God has said the details of making a decision to bring the world to judgment which was not predestined. It means the world of the day made the judgment inevitable.

In Todays NIV Bible, Genesis 6:11-13 Now the earth was corrupt in Gods sight and was full of violence. 12 God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. 13 So God said to Noah, I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth.

However, even in the midst of such sinful world, only Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Genesis 6:8

But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

Finding grace in the eyes of the Lord means that Noah walked with the Word of God and believed according to the Word of God and obeyed the Word of God.

As God said this, immediately after this, God commanded Noah to build an ark with gopherwood for himself. Considerately God even showed the blueprint for constructing an ark and as it is stated in Genesis 6:22, Noah did; according to all that God commanded him, so he did. The author of Hebrews said regarding this incident, Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.

Moved with godly fear, fear means to respect and to be afraid of. It means Noah upheld the Word of God with fear and trembling until the end and poured all his heart. Footnotes: The Apostle Peter said 18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us[e] to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit, 19 by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison, 20 who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited[f] in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. To thousands and ten thousands of people, God informed of the coming judgment for 70 years, nevertheless, only Noah, his wife, his sons and daughters in law were saved. Didnt Peter say a few, that is, eight souls? It shows how difficult it is to evangelize. 1. The time it took for Noah to build an ark is not 120 years. Until this day, pastors and theologians taught that it was 120 years and it was all lies. Nowhere in the Bible it says the time it took for Noah to build the ark is 120 years. As it is stated in Revelation 22:18, we must not add to or take away from the words of the written Bible. Announcing that the time it took for Noah to build the ark was not 120 year is the truth that is revealed in the books Gods redemptive series for the first time ever under heaven since the time of Noah until now.

Gods redemptive series clearly pointed out the names of people who wrongly taught this fact about the Bible and we have not received any statement of protest regarding this and among theologians either domestic or foreign, there was none who protested against this. This proves that what Gods redemptive series revealed is true. In Genesis 6:3, 120 years is not the time it took to construct an ark, but because of disbelief and sin, a generation of human will be decreased to 120 years. Generation of human is decreased means the lifespan of human will also be shortened. New Living Translation Then the LORD said, My Spirit will not put up with[b] humans for such a long time, for they are only mortal flesh. In the future, their normal lifespan will be no more than 120 years.

It means the Spirit of God, the life-giving breath of God, cannot stay with humans. It means whether it is their acts or thoughts, humans are occupied with corrupt thoughts from the moment they are born. That is why God said man cannot live longer than 120 years. Like this, the Word of God in Genesis 6:3 is totally irrelevant to the time it took Noah to build the ark. At the time, because the sons of man were all inclined to flesh oriented lifestyle, God warned them about corruption and judgment following after. 1) When did Noah received Gods revelation regarding ark? As God commanded Noah to build an ark (Genesis 6:14-21), God said to Noah, 18But I solemnly promise that you, your wife, your sons, and your daughters-in-law will be kept safe in the boat. From this we know that Noah received the revelation of ark after his three sons were married and had wives. Very unusually, when Noah had his three sons Noah was over 500 years. Genesis 5:32 32 And Noah was five hundred years old, and Noah begot Shem, Ham, and Japheth. It says here Noah was five hundred years old and he begot his three sons and the birth year of Noahs firstborn Shem is when Noah was 502 years old. Genesis 11:10

This is the genealogy of Shem: Shem was one hundred years old, and begot Arphaxad two years after the flood.

The Bible says when Shem was a hundred years old, it was two years after the flood and thus, Noah was 602 years when Shem was a hundred years old. If so, then Shem was born to Noah when Noah was 502 years, right? To find out when Noah begot his three sons exactly, we need to do some calculations. Probably Noah did not beget his three sons at once. Let us assume that Noah begot his three sons with three years in between each son, then Shem was born when Noahs age was 502, and Ham 505, and Japheth 508. And it says in the Bible, Noahs all three sons were married and had wives when Noah received the revelation of ark, let us assume they were married around the age 30. And if we assume each son got married each year, it would be, Shems birth year which is Noahs age 502 plus 30 = 532 so Shem got married when Noah was 532 Hams birth year is Noahs age 505 + 30 = 535 Japheths birth year is Noahs age 508 + 30 = 538 And therefore, when Noahs all three sons had their wives, it was when Noah was 538 years. Accordingly, Noah received the revelation of ark from God after his age was 538 years old. 2) When was the time Noah began to build an ark? Genesis 6:22 22 Thus Noah did; according to all that God commanded him, so he did. Here, Thus Noah did in Hebrew is Bayath and it means He did subsequently right after. Thus it means Noah obeyed the Word of God as soon as he received it. When Noah heard the Word of God commanding him to build an ark, Noah received that Word with hands of faith and immediately inscribed the Word in his heart and immediately followed and did all that God commanded him. The time when Noah began to build an ark is right after he received Gods revelation of ark. Constructing the ark according to what God had told him and preparing all things that are to be brought into the ark; Noah began this work immediately.

Please do not forget that we too must have such faith like Noah in order to endure to the end and survive. When we assume Noah received Gods command to build an ark when he was 538 years old, we should also assume that he began to construct the ark when he was 538 years old. 3) The completion of building the ark was before February second of Noahs age 600 years old. The time when the construction of the ark was complete is right before God commanded Noah to go into the ark and it is right before the flood began. This is so because God will never delay the judgment.

As soon as the ark was completely built, God did not delay a moment and as He commanded Noah to go into the ark with Noahs family God told Noah the day of judgment.

Genesis 7:4 For after seven more days I will cause it to rain on the earth forty days and forty nights, and I will destroy from the face of the earth all living things that I have made.

Actually, the day when the rain of judgment started to fall was February 17th of Noahs 600 year. Genesis 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noahs life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

Therefore, the day when God told Noah to go into the ark and let him know the day of the judgment by flood was 7 days before the day of the judgment which was February 10th Noahs 600 year. Accordingly, the completion of ark was done before February 10th of Noahs 600 year.

If so, then the time it took Noah to build the ark is from Noahs age 538 to before Noah went into the ark which was before February 10th, Noahs age 600 years. If so, then the actual time of constructing the ark is 600 538 = 62 years. It is correct to see it is about 60 years.

And therefore, the opinion saying that it took Noah 120 years to complete the construction of the ark is an absurd idea. Already, this fact is revealed to all over the world, it is clear that the spiritual battle has begun. The spiritual battle that truth and lie fight each other has already begun. I hope you realize clearly what we must do, what our task is and become the saints of God who equip yourself with weapons and bullets required in the spiritual battlefield.

Like this, we can trace and find out the time when the ark started to get built and the time when it was completely built, we can estimate the time it took Noah to construct the ark. God said the target of salvation by the ark was 8 people and God re-confirmed that the subject of Gods covenant is Noahs family 8 people who constructed the ark. 2 Peter 2:5 and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly;

1 Peter 3:20 who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited[f] in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.

From this we know that these eight are children of covenant. Including Noah, Noahs wife and his three sons and daughters in law; only these 8 are children of covenant.

Only these 8 people of Noahs family were holy people of Gods covenant. Only people with Gods covenant survived the judgment and rest of the people who did not have Gods covenant with them were all eradicated by the flood. People who entered the ark were 8 family members of Noah and people who came out of the ark were also these 8 Noahs family members. When Noahs daughters in law began to have children was 2 years after they came out of the ark. God is detailed like this. 2. One very important point is the fact that life expectancy of humans has decreased after the flood.

After the flood, lifespan of mankind drastically decreased. Noah enjoyed longevity of living 950 years old and the patriarchs after Noah could not enjoy longevity like Noah. Although Shem lived 600 years old, the generation after the flood, Arphaxad lived 438 years, Salah lived 433 years, Eber lived 464 years old. The life expectancy of humans decreased to about 400 years. And after the incident of the towel of Babel which mankind challenged God, humans lifespan decreased even more. Peleg lived two hundred and thirty nine years, Reu lived two hundred and thirty nice years, 22 Serug lived thirty years, and begot Nahor. 23 After he begot Nahor, Serug lived two hundred thirty years, 24 Nahor lived twenty-nine years, and begot Terah. 25 After he begot Terah,

Nahor lived one hundred and forty nine years, 26 Now Terah lived two hundred and five years, and begot Abram. Abraham lived one hundred and seventy five years.

Humans who lived more than 900 years before the flood, now after the flood, their life expectancy decreased dramatically and suddenly. And after that, no one lived more than 200 years. Abraham 175, Isaac 180, Jacob 147, Moses 120, Aaron 123, Joshua 110 and after that, humans could not even live longer than 100 years. God, in order to put an end to the corrupt world and to create the original world of creation, the kingdom of righteousness, decreased the lifespan of human. That was also love of God. What was the principle reason for shortening of humans lifespan? Genesis 6:3 And the LORD said, My Spirit shall not strive[a] with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years. Because men became flesh because the Spirit of God left them. Flesh means the state of beast. Humans whose thoughts are occupied with only fleshly thoughts are beasts. They find and eat everything that people say it is good for the body. Snakes, cobras, fire ants, cats, foxes, maggot and even larva; people eat these things for their body. Men are honourable beings. Psalm 49:20

A man who is in honor, yet does not understand, Is like the beasts that perish.

For men are honourable beings, they put their heads up in the sky and their thoughts and minds are all created to understand the heavenly world, however, men do not even think of heaven and only looked down on earth.

People desire only what their eyes can see and whether its male or female, if it is for

for money they trick and even kill each other. Did not the Scripture say The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence? To put an end to this God did not let humans live long and decreased their lifespan.

It is a result of horrible sin that mans lifespan decreased and mans life became finite. In Psalm 90:10, Moses said, 10 The days of our lives are seventy years; And if by reason of strength they are eighty years, Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow; For it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

Look at the fearful Word of God that says we will surely die if we sin. Genesis 2:17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.

Ecclesiastes 8:11 Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.

The reason why men do evil bravely is because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily. That is why God shortened lifespan of mankind.

How horrible the punishment regarding the sin of Adam was!

Look at the result of disbelief that did not believe the Word of God that he shall surely die if he eats of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Adam was cast out of garden of Eden and life became the life of thorns and thistles. Man who possessed the image of God became beast. Why do you think God made a garment of animal skin and dress Adam and Eve who sinned? (Genesis 3:21) God let them know they are animals.

The punishment for Adams sin was death. Genesis 3:19

In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return.

What does this mean, For dust you are, and to dust you shall return? You are not a living spirit and no more than dust and therefore you shall return to dust, you shall become a being without a breath of life, which means, you shall die.

This was a death sentence Adam received because of sin. That is why in Romans 6:23 it says the wages of sin is death.

Remember now, who ever perished being innocent? Or where were the upright ever cut off?

James 1:15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is fullgrown, brings forth death.

As a result of sin mans lifespan has decreased and in the end they die. Sinners cannot live a half of their lifespan.

Psalm 55:23

But You, O God, shall bring them down to the pit of destruction; Bloodthirsty and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; But I will trust in You.

Ecclesiastes 7:16-17

Do not be overly righteous, Nor be overly wise: Why should you destroy yourself? 17 Do not be overly wicked, Nor be foolish: Why should you die before your time?

Being overly righteous or overly wicked is desperately trying to shorten ones days and die before their time. We say you are desperately trying to die. Why are you trying to die so desperately? We say such thing, right?

If we sin there is no peace in our household. Isaiah 57:21

There is no peace, Says my God, for the wicked.

However, in Proverbs 10:27 it says 27 The fear of the LORD prolongs days. People who fear only God and say that they will live uprightly before the sight of the Lord will prolong their days. How wonderful it is! As it says in Genesis 6:8, Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.

In the days of the end, I hope you saints of God who are accepting this Word of God all found grace in the eyes of the Lord just like Noah did.

1 Peter 1:13 Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

There is the last grace that is to be brought to us at the revelation of Jesus Christ. In order to find that grace, we really need to live a devout life.

We must walk with the Word of God and act according to the Word of God and obey the Word of God and in all our lifes corners we must have thanksgiving and praises overflowing so that we may find the last grace in the eyes of the Lord. I bless you with the name of the Lord you and I, until we find the last grace which Christ is to bring and we are all transfigured, become the saints of thanksgiving whose life is full of giving thanks, thanks, and thanks to God. Once again, please take heed to yourselves that God commanded to Noah, Build yourself an ark, and whenever you hear the Word of God, do it for yourself, and whenever you pray, have faith in God and do Gods work, do it for yourself so that we become Noahs of this time who receive Gods praise, Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good.
