September 12, 2013 Dear Friend, Leavenworth will be hosting its annual debate tournament on Saturday, October 19, 2013. We are asking for your help in this endeavor. We will have many rounds of debate, and we need judges. We would appreciate it if you would help us with a donation of your time. Any judging help would be appreciated, whether its only one round or as many as five rounds. No judging experience is required, only a willingness to listen!! As a judge, you will be asked to decide which team did a better job of debating. This is just like a political campaign debate; you will decide which team persuaded you that their position was correct. This years resolution is Resolved: The United States Federal Government should substantially increase its economic engagement toward Cuba, Mexico, or Venezuela As a judge you will hear debaters argue various aspects of these policies. If you would like more information about judging before the tournament, feel free to contact me anytime, and sheets will be sent home with a how to judge overview. If you are able to help us, please fill in your judging preference on the attached form and return it by Friday, October 4th.
