Blessed are they that believe

Luke 1: 41-45
41

And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:42 And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. 43 And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.45 And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord .

In many instances our perception of things and how we have been doing them hinders us from accepting the word of God. The bible lets us know that the natural man receiveth not the
things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned (1 Corinthians 2:14). Now looking at our opening scripture in Luke 1: 41-45, we see the word that the Spirit of the Lord gave to Mary the mother of Jesus, through Elizabeth. In verse 45 she says to her And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance (fulfilment) of those things which were told her from the Lord. Remember this conversation between Mary and Elizabeth occurred after the Angel Gabriel was sent to Mary, and proclaimed to her that she was to conceive a son, and that she should name him the Jesus, and that He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. (Luke 1: 30-37). Even though Mary had questions about how this was going to happen, since she doesnt know a man (Luke 1:35), her response to the word of the Lord is so amazing. After the angel told her how the Lord would perform His word, and that He has already performed it also in the life of Elizabeth her cousin who was called barren, for with God nothing is impossible (Luke 1: 36-37), Mary replied and said: And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her (Luke 1:38). What a marvellous response. Glory to God. The bible lets us know that God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? (Numbers 23: 19) . The word of the Lord lets us know in the book of Isaiah 45:19 I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right. These two scriptures reveal to us the character of the God to whom we belong, and that He always performs His word. In most cases as children of God we have difficulties accepting what the word of God is saying to us and about us. In the book of 1 John 3: 1-2 says Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. Halelluya! Beloved we are the sons of God, but as many as received Him, to them He gave the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: (John 1: 12). This means that every word that Lord ever spoke concerning you is a reality, no matter the circumstances that may surround you.

The bible tells us how Abraham received the word of God by faith and it was accounted to him for righteousness (Romans 4: 3). As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations, before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were (Romans 4:17). But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6). John 3: 16-17 says For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. For as many as have received Him, to them He gave the rights to be called sons of God, and if we are Sons of God, we ought to believe in His word, and that there shall be a fulfilment of those things that were spoken by the Lord in His word. Beloved let the Word of the Lord have final authority in your lives, God bless you all.
