Hearing Gods Word

A WELCOME and ANNOUNCEMENTS Childrens Rally Time ANTHEM: Here I Am, Lord

ORGAN PRELUDE: Abide With Me CHORAL INTROIT

*CALL to WORSHIP In James NT letter, he advices those early disciples by saying You do well when you complete the Royal Rule of the Bible: Love others, as you love yourself . But if we play up to only so-called important people, we go against the Golden Rule and stand convicted by it. You cant pick and choose in these things, my friends, by specializing in keeping one or two things in Gods law, and ignoring other laws. Come, let us love and serve all others, and worship together! For We are One: as We walk, as We work , as We praise, and as We Rally around our Lord, Jesus- Together! *HYMN #595G Theyll Know We Are Christians *CALL TO and PRAYER of CONFESSION Does merely talking about faith indicate that a person really has it? For instance, you come upon an old friend dressed in rags and half-starved and say, Good morning, friend! Be clothed in Christ Jesus! Be filled with the Holy Spirit! and walk off without providing so much as a coat, or a cup of soup where does that get you? Isnt it obvious that God-talk without God-acts is outrageous nonsense? Now hear us in silence, as we continue to confess to You *ASSURANCE of PARDON and GLORIA PATRI *AFFIRMATION of FAITH- Apostles Creed (back)

THE APOSTLES CREED I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth: And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, Suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; The third day he rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
