population. So need of English language in gaining knowledge
and making oneself competent in the world market has become
very essential.
Simply saying, English language is the distinct language with
its own sets of rules, structures, literature and history. This
language does not profound depth of knowledge for the learners
English language has become the language of science, trade and
commerce in the international scenario. So, it has been accepted
as an international language.
Now we can share each others ideas and feelings despite having
different mother tongues. English is important to know about the
scientific discoveries being made day by day. We are welcome

are applied child is believed to be safe from these diseases for
lifetime.

Most of us think that these vaccines are kind of medicines
as like those medicines which are given by physician when we
are suffering from some kind desease like common cold, typhoid
etc. But actually, vaccines are the bacteria or viruses that cause
same type disease themselves. As for example, dadura khop
contains the same kind of bacteria that cause the same disease.
But these bacterias are made passive and having no capacity to
cause disease. When these vaccines are given in the small age,
our body build the immune system against them and makes the
body safe from future infection.

When the passive bacteria or virus are given in our body
system, due to their presence. B-cell, one kind of white blood
cell, becomes active and produce the antibody. These antibody
combat with the disease causing bacteria and virus. That is why,
when the vaccines do not work for a whole life time. As for
example, Tetanus vaccines work only for a certain time. In such
situation. the vaccines should be given in a fixed interval of
time.

Lamjung district lies in the western development region
of Nepal. The district is surrounded by Gorkha district in the
east, Kaski and Manang district in the west, Manang and Gorkha

The cinema was invented by the French Scientist Lumiere.
Formerly moving pictures were silent. We could only see the
activities of the actor and actress. But now cinematography has
been much improved. We can now hear their sounds also. The

pictures are called movies.
There are two kinds of films. They are feature and documentary.

The cinema is a useful art. It has many advantages. It

There are many festivals which are observed in our
country like Teej, Dashain, Tihar, Janai Poornima etc. One of the
important festival is Teej. It is observed in the month of August
or September (Bhadra). It is the festival of music, dance and
worshipping Lord Shiva especially by women.
This festival really starts from the day of Krishna Janmasthami
and ends at Rishipanchami. During this festival, women observe
fast for the whole day for the fulfillment of their wishes.
According to the legend, Parvati, the daughter of Himalaya
Parvat had observed fasting on this day and performed puja on
the Shivalinga. She wanted Lord Shiva as her husband. It is said
that she had won the heart of Lord Shiva because of her devotion
and accepted her as his wife. Her desire was fulfilled. For this
significant reason, unmarried women celebrate this festival to
get suitable husband in their life and married women observe it
for the longer life and prosperity of their husband and children.
A night before this festival, women eat special dish called Dar
along with their family members because they have to spend
next whole day without taking a drop of water also. During the
time of festival, married women are called by their parents to
their birthplace from their in-laws house. On the second day,
women fast throughout the day even without drinking water.
Women wear red clothes and beautiful jewelleries. They sing,
dance and make merriment for a whole day. At the day, they
worship Lord Shiva and taking fruit, milk, juice etc.
Then comes Rishipanchami on the last day after the full moon
day Bhadra. On this day also women fast throughout the day
and perform puja in the evening. They worship Sapta Rishis by
the girls who have obtained after their first menstruation period.

women brush their teeth with sacred grass (Datiwan). Then, they
come house with dancing and singing.
