Maiocco called the Twenty- Seventh Regular Meeting of the Medford City Council to order at 7:00 P.M., at the Howard F. Alden Memorial Auditorium, Medford City Hall.

MOTIONS ORDERS AND RESOLUTIONS

13-670-Offered by President Maiocco and Councillor Camuso Be It Resolved that the Medford City Council offers its sincere condolences to the family of John H. Jake Keating, retired Medford Police Chief, Medford City Councillor, and Navy veteran on his recent passing. 13-671-Offered by Councillor Camuso Be It Resolved that the city looks into installing a sprinkler park in one of our parks for the enjoyment of Medford families. These parks have become very popular in surrounding communities. 13-672-Offered by Councillor Lungo-Koehn Be It Resolved that the Medford City Council thank Cache and the organizers of the Medford Farmers Market for their great work this season. The two organizations have made our Square come alive on Thursdays which has been a benefit to all Medford residents, families, businesses and the community as a whole. 13-673-Offered by Lungo-Koehn Be It Resolved that potential raised cross walk on South Street be placed at a location that will slow the traffic down for those walking from Walnut to South Street Court as many people traverse the area when heading over the Craddock bridge to Medford Square. 13-674-Offered by Councillor Penta Be It Resolved that the recent council vote to invoke council rule 21 as it pertains to a particular subject matter be revoked. 13-675-Offered by Councillor Penta Be It Resolved that the Lawrence Memorial Hospital President and CEO, Richard Sack appear before our city council for either the October 1st or October 8th to update the citizens of Medford of the hospital's alleged takeover by another medical institution. 13-682- Offered by Councillor Penta Be It Resolved that the city owned West Medford parking lot be discussed.

COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE MAYOR 13-680September 11, 2013 To the Honorable President and Members of the Medford City Council City Hall Medford, MA 02155 Dear Mr. President and City Councillors: I respectfully request and recommend that your Honorable Body appropriate $160,900 from the Sale of Lots and Graves Account to the Cemetery Department Salary Account. This recommended appropriation is requested in accordance with Page 40 of the Fiscal 2014 budget. The Cemetery Department Salary account is reduced each year in anticipation of an appropriation from Sales of Lots and Graves. In addition, I respectfully request and recommend that your Honorable Body appropriate $165,495 from Perpetual Care to the Cemetery Department Expense budget. This recommended appropriation is requested in accordance with Page 41 of the Fiscal 2014 budget.
