SOCIAL MEDIA AND JOB SEARCHING ONLINE Tuesday, October 1, 6:00pm-7:00pm, MLC Rm 150 Are your tweets hurting your career? This session will provide an overview of social media and the impact that online platforms can have on your professional success. During the workshop, we will show students how to evaluate their digital footprint, talk about ways that employers use social media, and discuss personal branding techniques for distinguishing yourself online. The presentation will focus mainly on the risks and benefits of Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. 4. CAREERS IN ENGINEERING Wednesday, October 2, 6:00pm-7:30pm, MLC Rm 248 The Careers in Engineering professional panel program will give you an opportunity to hear about various career paths within the field of engineering. Panelists include representatives from AT&T, Carrier, Eaton Corporation, Warner Robins Air Force Base, and Armentrout, Matheny, Thurmond. The panel moderator will ask the panelists questions about their professional background and students will also have a chance to ask the panelists questions. There will be time for students to speak directly with the panelists after the Q&A session has ended. 5. AGRICULTURAL, ENVIRONMENTAL, AND ENGINEERING CAREER AND INTERNSHIP FAIR Wednesday, October 9, 12:00pm-4:00pm, Tate Student Center-Grand Hall-5th Floor The Agricultural, Environmental, and Engineering Career and Internship Fair is a great opportunity to meet and network with employers. The employers in attendance are typically targeting agriculture, environmental sciences, and engineering majors, but all majors are welcome to attend! The dress code for this event is business professional and we recommend bringing copies of your resume. Click here for a list of the employers attending. 6. VIRTUAL CAREER FAIR FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES 7. UGAs PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION AT UGA GWINNETT CAMPUS OPEN HOUSE An Open House for The University of Georgias Master of Public Administration program at the UGA Gwinnett Campus will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 and on Saturday, November 2, 2013 on the UGA Gwinnett Campus from 8:30am 12:00pm. Not only should attendees learn what types of positions are out there for them but it is also a GREAT networking event.
