Time seems to be flying by in third grade. We are super busy learning and having a good time!! This week is full of excitement. Just a few reminders as we begin this week. Picture Day is Wednesday September 25, 2013. Please send your payment with your child on that day. Book Reports are due this Friday. I have uploaded a PDF file of all information to RenWeb for you to access as well. Please make sure you sign your childs Reading & Math Log. Remember, each student should read at least 20 minutes a night and practice math facts for a minimum of 30 minutes a week. Progress Reports this Friday! Dont forget Movie Night this Friday!!

Heres what going on in 3rd grade this week . We have had so much fun exploring our Friendship unit. This week we will read a story called The Tree House. This is a story about two girls who learn that cooperating and sharing is a lot more fun than being rivals. What will they discover about each other? Dont forget to ask your child to tell you all about it. In Math we will focus on. Adding 10 to a Two-Digit Number & Subtracting from a Two-Digit Number using Mental Computation Adding Sums of 10 Identifying the Relative Value of Pattern Blocks Making a Design With a Given Value Using Pattern Blocks Writing the Date Using Digits Dividing Squares into Two, Four and Eight Equal parts. In Science we will continue learning about types of animal and plant adaptations. Keep eye for our Adaptation Movie coming soon!! In Social Studies we will continue to learn about the different regions of California. We will also explore using maps. This week we will finish our California Regions Maps!! In Religion we will learn about Jesus second coming. Students will learn about the Holy Spirit coming at Pentecost and about the growth of the early church.

We love apps in third grade!! This week we explored Story Kit. This is a digital story telling app designed to make storytelling fun. Your children have been working on a summary to Angel Child, Dragon Child. Soon, we will be ready to share. In the meantime, your children can explore digital story telling at home as well.
