Pasig City ECE DEPARTMENT COMPETENCY-BASED SYLLABUS I. SUBJECT CODE: ECE 111 II. SUBJECT TITLE: TECHNOLOGY 1 III. SUBJECT DESCRIPTION: This is 3 unit course that deals with the basic principles of electronics and electricity. It provides a first hand knowledge on electronics to beginners and technical practitioners and the familiarization of electronic components such as resistor, capacitors, inductors and diode. It encompasses the training of students on the use of test and measuring equipment such as Tester, Ammeter and Voltmeter. Also it includes the PCB layout and project making such as the construction of unregulated power supply. CORE COMPETENCY 1. Know and understand the Fundamentals of Electricity and Electronics SUB-COMPETENCIES PERFORMANCE CRITERIA 1.1. Know and understand 1.1.1. CORE COMPETENCY: 4. Analyzing and Designing Basic Circuit Laws SUB-COMPETENCIES PERFORMANCE CRITERIA 4.1. Know and understand the principles in Ohm's Law 4.1.1. Textbooks, referrences, manuals and other reading materials are clearly read and used as tools to know and unerstand fully about concepts and principles in Ohm's law 4.1.2. Experimental circuit of Ohm's Law is constructed, performed and interpreted through laboratory experiment 4.2.1. Correct application of law to determine the values of different electrical parameters are properly selected and evaluated 4.2.2. Problems are analyzed and solved through Ohm's Law principle 4.3. Interprets relationship and principles of current and voltage divider method 4.3.1. Appropriate interpretation and understanding to the relationship of current and voltage principles are well outlined, and applied 4.4.1. The Kirchoff's Law is properly recognized, identified and performed with confidence and proficiency 4.4.2. Network problems are confidently solved through Kirchoff's Law 4.4.3. Laboratory experiments are explicitly constructed and performed

Correct tools, device and meters are chosen correctly in testing the power supply 6.5.3. Faults are detected and identified, remedial action is properly taken 6.5.4. Designing PCB and construction of project is clearly achieved 6.5.5. Working electronic projects are explicitly explained and demonstrated,
