Objectives: This course aims to familiarize the students with the current trends in information
technologyandmanagementsystems.Thecourseisdesignedtomakethestudentsaware abouttheapplicationsofinformationtechnologyinbusiness. Managementinformation systemsarekeytobusinessfunctionsandstudentsneedafundamentalunderstandingof theprinciplesofsystemstheorytopreparethemtoworkwithandmanageinformation systemswithinorganizations.Emphasisisplacedonmanagementandtechnicalconcepts fundamental to business applications andmanagement control ofinformation systems. Coverage will include transactionprocessing systems that support daily business operations, and management information and decision support systems that aid in planning, organizing and controlling business activities. The goal of this course is to provide management information system concepts that can be useful to the student in futurebusinesscourses,asauserofmanagementinformationsystems,andasafuture decision maker concerned with the acquisition, application and control of business informationsystem.
