1. Prevention Methods: Almost every teen is not completely satisfied with themselves. Some prevention methods to reduce low self esteem include: Learning how to love yourself as you are Identifying the positives of yourself, and working to improve minor details Dont let weaknesses get in the way, learn to grow with them. (: Surround yourselves with positive influences Know that you are beautiful

Risk Behaviors: With low self esteem because of self image, there are many risks, which can include depression, stress, anxiety, eating disorders, and sometimes might lead to suicide. How we view ourselves is controllable to a certain extent. Self acceptance can reduce risk behaviors, which makes many of these risks controllable.

3. Demographics at Risk There is not a specific age group that is at risk for low self esteem in body image, because it can affect young kids and adults, but teens are most affected by this. Mostly girls have a bigger problem with self image than boys do.

7. Impact of Media The media has a high impact on body image. Theyve put so much pressure on girls to be perfect. Pictures of stick skinny girls with perfect figures and flawless complexions are shown almost everywhere, which puts a new definition of beauty out to the world, which girls try to compete with, if not stack up to. This kills most girls confidence and impacts many girls. The pressure to be perfect, the pressure to be beautiful that doesnt exist.
