Tomorrow is the 14 of February, so that most European countries and the USA will celebrate faint Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day is a time for showing love and friend ship. For some, it means sending cards to special friends. For others, it means enjoying chocolate and other tasty treats. Many customs and traditions of Valentine's Day gives a holiday filled of fun. This holiday is so anoint that its exact history is unclear but we do know some legend about Saint Valentine, the person for whom this day is named. Saint Valentine lived in Rome about 1,700 years ago. The Roman emperor of the time had forbidder young soldiers to merry. Valentine, a priest, secretly married the men to their sweethearts. After his death Valentine became known as the patron saint of lovers. Another story is that February, 14 is the day when birds choose their mates and start building the west, so people also choose the ones they love on that day.

1. In the Centre of the festival of lovers is the story about Cupid. 2. Cupid is the God of love. He is a small baby with magic arrows. His mother, the goddess of love gave them to Cupid and he plays with them, just like every baby would play with his toys. 3. Cupid likes to make people fall in love. But he is only a baby, so he is not very smart and does not how to choose right people. 4. You see, Cupid shoots his magic arrow into someones heart. Then that person falls in love with the next person he or she sees 5. But Cupid often forgets to shoot magic arrow into the other persons heart. Then, sometimes, the other person doesnt love the first person.

6. Cupid makes a lot of trouble this way. Thats why people from the old days have been trying to remind cupid to shoot his arrows the right way. And the best way for that is poetry and songs of love.
