    INT. CTU LA: MASONS OFFICE

    DAY

    CTU Office - messy desk: papers, computer, phone, keys. GEORGE is seated behind the desk - finishing a phone call. He is just hanging up when theres a knock on the door. JOHN enters, handcuffed, lead by KEN. JOHN What the hell are you doing? KEN Anything else I can do for you George? No, Ken. Got it. KEN exits. GEORGE Im sorry, John. GEORGE un-cuffs JOHN. GEORGE Hey. I told you I needed to see you right? JOHN What happened here? GEORGE Never could get you to watch the news, could I? JOHN If youre looking to a bond here dad, having your son arrested probably isnt the best way to do that. GEORGE I dont have much time, John. Things are happening here. I cant go into it fully. JOHN You couldnt go fully into much of anything. GEORGE I got it from here. KEN

    2 GEORGE Its my work. JOHN Thats just something you should look into if you happen to start a second family. GEORGE Oh, its not gonna happen. Look... I understand if youre angry. JOHN Im not angry Dad. I dont care. I just dont really understand- what are you trying to do here? GEORGE Uhh... I got this bank account. Nobody knows about it. Its got a couple hundred thousand dollars in it. I want you to have it. Ive given the number to my book-keeper, who Ive spoken to. Hell be transferring the money. Mason hands John a slip of paper. JOHN Lets try and get this right Dad.. You uh.. Youre bringing me here to tell me youre giving me money? What did you expect me to do? Expect me to give you a hug? Dad, I dont want your money. GEORGE You dont... Then give it to your mom. Im sure she does. Cos.. Thing is, Im not gonna be needing it. JOHN Why is that? MASON looks down - evasive. JOHN Why is that, Dad? Listen, you dont bring me here, offer me a small fortune, and not tell me whats going on. GEORGE Im dying John.

    3 JOHN You sonuvabitch... John looks like hes about to cry. Mason looks the same way.

    JOHN Is it cancer; or something? GEORGE Something like that. Yeah. Look, John... Something bad is gonna happen in Los Angeles today. And I need you to leave town. JOHN Leave? Now? GEORGE Go to Phoenix and stay with your mom for a little while. Yeah. I mean it, John. Its dangerous to be here. I cant explain it to you, but you just have to go, okay? Just go. JOHN Dad, listen. I dont... doesnt matt- Dammit! Mason hugs John. GEORGE Youre a good kid. I hope I didnt mess you up too bad. You alright? JOHN Yeah. GEORGE Get out of here alright?
