Topic outline: Literacy: in this topic, the children will be learning about describing characters and settings by looking

at a range of stories. We will need to use our skills to help us so we will be thinking about trying to sound out words in reading and using capital letters, finger spaces and full stops in writing. To make our work even more exciting, we are going to learn how to use adjectives and connectives to our sentences. Mathematics: in maths we will be learning to recognise numbers, count and order numbers and amounts up to 30 as well as understanding and using place value. Science: in science we will be using a variety of materials for different purposes. This will require us to test and select the materials carefully.
