Adult Art Programs: Fall 2013

ACT offers a number of opportunities just for adults! Graduated Art classes are classes for people age 16 and up. These programs offer opportunities for creating community, meeting new friends, and building self confidence, all while learning and enjoying art.

Basic Class Information

Classes meet at ACT (1140 Monroe NW, GR) unless otherwise noted Class size is generally 10-15 students Classes are taught by professional teaching artists Need-based scholarships are available (see registration form for more information) Generally non-visual art classes meet on Mondays; Visual art classes meet on Tuesdays, and Choir on Thursdays

Glee Show Choir: Based on the popular hit TV show, Glee!, students will have fun singing, dancing, and drumming together. Learning from the Masters: Students will explore a variety of visual art media as they learn to create artwork like many famous artists throughout history.

Assistant ACT encourages participants to bring an assistant if necessary for meaningful participation in class. There is no cost for assistants. Please note that we will not provide art supplies for assistants as the purpose of the assistant is to help the participant, not to work on his or her own art project. ACTion Drummers: This in-depth drumming class is for folks interested in learning more about drumming and performing in various community locations. The group practices weekly, and performs at least two times during each ten-week session. For more information, call Becky at #616-885-5866. ACT Choir: A community choir focusing on fun, friendship, and music technique. No experience necessary. Location: Kuyper College Social Dance: A dance class in which students learn fun dances and moves that you would find at various social events, such as a school prom or wedding! Location: Grand Rapids Ballet
