House Rules

IPL Workshop 2010 NIP R211

Zeroth Rule
Romantic relationships between members are not allowed.

Security and Overnight Concerns


Staying at New NIP after 7:30 pm is prohibited. 7:30 - 10:00 PM - Only students belonging to labs can stay but must secure express permission from the lab coordinator. 10:00 PM - 5:00 AM - Only persons with overnight permits are allowed to stay. You will not be allowed to leave the bldg during these times. Ask visitors to log in the logbook and wear their IPL ID.

Reception Area

Visitors are entertained in this area and allowed only up to this area.

Experiment Area
Food and drinks are strictly not allowed. Do not move other experimenter's set-up.

Kitchen
Clean as you leave. Leave the kitchen as clean as before you used it or better. Return borrowed mugs after use. Dispose garbage properly! Perishable items (including styrofoams from take-outs) must be thrown in the garbage bins outside the lab.

PC Use, Books and Journals


Use the computers for academic and research purposes only.

When borrowing journal for photocopy or reproduction, sign up in the logbook provided for that purpose. After reading, put away books and journals in their proper positions. E-mail the members whenever a book is borrowed and is to be taken outside the lab. The books at the staff area, however, are for room use only.

Workstations
When not being used, computers must be turned off at 6 pm.

Desktop items must be placed in the desktop items folder, better yet in your own sarsi home directory.
Close applications and disconnect from shared network folder (sarsi) after use. Do not leave mugs, glasses, personal belongings at the workstations. A baggage counter is located near the kitchen corner.

Seniority Rule
Regarding phone calls , visitors looking for an Instru member (or whatever), it is the youngest lab member present who is expected to attend to these tasks. During thesis time, graduating students should be given priority in using computers as well as other resources.

Moderation
Moderate your voice while in the lab (particularly in the students area) and be discerning of the actions that may disturb other members(e.g. singing, playing guitar). Use earphones when playing music. Foosball can be played during lunch hours and after 5pm. Exceptions can be made in prudence, e.g. no RM, permission from others present, etc.

Attendance
Attend all Instru activities. Seminars. Members should free Mondays 2-4pm (and Saturdays 10-11 am if required). As much as possible, do not schedule exams and other regular meetings on the scheduled time for seminars. PhP 50 fine for every absence! Other Important Matters


Instru properties are not for personal income generating projects.

When last to leave the lab, turn off all the lights and make sure that the doors are locked.

For three (3) house rule infractions, membership status will be subject for evaluation

Tasks
BS3 - kitchen, seminar areas, whiteboards, journals
BS4 - audio-visual presentation, organizational chart, IPL album, seminar venue preparation, workshop venue and program, graduation party BS5 - BS-MS application PhD1 - BS-MS Application Computer Assignments: To follow. "If you use it, care for it."
