8:30 a.m. 9:30 a.m. Registration Begins / Continental Breakfast Breakfast hosted by the AHS Docent Council, Southern Division Board of Directors Meeting Alternative activities: Behind-the-scenes museum tours; Participate in a museum scavenger hunt. General Membership Meeting Board of Directors elections; Awards and Recognitions The Board of Directors will meet briefly, immediately following the General Membership meeting. Reception Salsa Bar with Mexican Drinks Hosted by the AHS Southern Arizona Chapter Board Luncheon Mexican Buffet by El Charro Birria (Beef), Pollo Tinga (Chicken), or Cheese Chilaquilas (Vegetarian); Whole Beans; White Rice; Sonoran Rice; Salad; Dessert; Beverage Keynote Speaker: Bob Blair, William Henry Jackson: Photographer, Freehand Artist, and Anthropologist. Bob Blair of Taos, New Mexico, is the editor of William Henry Jacksons The Pioneer Photographer, based on two decades of research related to the well-known early western photographer. He currently is doing curatorial work on the William Henry Jackson Collection at Scotts Bluff National Monument. His passion for Jacksons photography and art took root while Bob was working as an interpretative river guide at Jackson Hole, Wyoming, in the 1960s. This talk, based on Jacksons diary notes, autobiographies, letters, and publications of the U.S. Geological Survey, provides a gripping tale of southwestern exploration as seen through the eyes of one of the Wests preeminent photographers.
