Goodwill Opens New Attended Donation Center in Chelmsford

BOSTON (October 3, 2013) Chelmsford residents, as well as those in the surrounding area, now have a convenient location to donate to Goodwill. On October 12, Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries will open an attended donation center in Chelmsford at 299 Chelmsford Street in the Stop & Shop Plaza. The donation center will be open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Locally, Goodwill serves 10,000 people a year, providing job training, career services, and youth programs. Goodwills mission is to help people with barriers to self-sufficiency achieve independence and dignity through work. Residents in Chelmsford and surrounding towns now have a convenient location where they can donate to a great cause, said Jason Marshall, vice president of retail for Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries. Were excited about opening this new donation center and look forward to working with the town. Goodwill collects nearly 23 million pounds in donations every year in eastern and central Massachusetts, meaning reusable items are diverted from the landfill and into stores, where they take on new value for shoppers looking to stretch their dollar. Goodwill accepts donations of clothing, textiles, shoes and other accessories, books, small working appliances, household items, small furniture, antiques, collectibles, and more. Goodwill urges residents to donate items that are of good quality and to donate during the hours of operation. An attendant will be able to provide a tax receipt for all donations. For a complete list of what to donate, store locations and other information, please visit www.goodwillmass.org. About Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries For more than a century, Goodwill has provided job training programs and partnered with the business community to provide meaningful work opportunities for individuals with disabilities and other barriers to self-sufficiency. In addition, Goodwill operates Boston Career Link, a one-

stop career center, which offers universal access to a broad range of services for job seekers, individuals who are looking to advance or change careers, and employers seeking good job candidates. Goodwill also offers programs that foster academic achievement and career aspirations among urban youth. The Goodwill Stores in eastern and central Massachusetts provide jobs and on-the-job training opportunities. They offer quality, low-cost goods to individuals and families looking for value and support other programs and services fulfilling Goodwills charitable mission. www.goodwillmass.org
