Six cities come under category 'X' for HRA purpose (30% of Basic), these are Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hydarabad and Bangaluru.
Seven Cities of category 'Y' are treated at par with category 'X' in respect of transport allowance, these cities are Ahemedabed, Jaipur, Kanpur, Lucknow, Nagpur, Pune
and Surat. Therefore, for these cities, 'Gross' and 'In Hand' salaries are shown in column no. 12th and 18th respectively.

Besides the salary shown above, Asstt. In IB draws a security allowance @ 15% of basic per month and SI in CBI draws a special pay @ 25% of basic per month.

CBDT Inspectors get 30-liter petrol/month apart from 'the salary' shown above. Moreover, they are entitled to get a BSNL/MTNL post paid mobile connection with the
facility of free all India calling in home network along with 400 free minutes per month for calling other Carriers and 1GB free data for gprs. Tax Assistant in CBDT also
gets post paid mobile connection with the same facilities as of the Inspectors in CBDT.
