AIRASIA has launched a
low-cost courier service
called Redbox.
The new service will
offer an average of 50%
savings in costs when com-
pared to existing courier
services.
The price range is RM47
to RM193 for delivering
packages to several areas
between the central region
(Kuala Lumpur, Selangor
and selected parts of Negri
Sembilan) and places in
East Malaysia like Kuching,
Miri, Sibu, Kota Kinabalu,
Labuan and Sandakan.
The company is target-
ing a revenue of RM25 mil-
lion to RM30 million from
RedBox next year.
“This is the first of
initiatives this year to build
stronger revenue,” said
AirAsia group chief ex-
ecutive officer Datuk Tony
Fernandes.
The company is looking
to monetise on the AirAsia
networks and hits that
the AirAsia website
has received.
“We are using our
brand, networks and
the internet to offer
services to customers.
There is a huge mar-
ket here for courier
services.
The courier market
is estimated to be worth

Save Sumatran rhinos with Honda

HONDA is holding a “Save the Rhino’s
Home” contest to educate the young
and to increase awareness on environ-
mental conservation efforts and the
plight of Sumatran rhinoceros.
The Sumatran rhinoceros is one of
the world’s most endangered species
with few left on Indonesia’s Sumatra
island, Sabah and peninsular Malaysia.
According to Malaysian wildlife officials,
only 30 Sumatran rhinos can be found
in Sabah.
The contest, which offers prizes
worth RM5,000, runs from now to
July 31, and is open to primary school
students.
The contest comprises three sec-
tions which asks participants to:
» unscramble words that relate to
deforestation;
» find a path through a maze to lead an
illustrated rhino “home”, and,
» suggest environmental conservation
efforts that can be practiced at home,
school and public areas.
The first prize is a HP Mini 1000,
second prize a Sony Cyber-shot DSC
T90 while the third prize is a Sony PSP.
There are also
