to test day focus more and more on your strengths, relax, be healthy, get excited, picture yourself as a lawyer, be positive! Logical Reasoning ReKap - For Flaw questions, remember the author messed up; the argument/conclusion is wrong (unsupported) ReKap - Causality indicated by ''main reason for'', produced, resulted in, led to, produced, etc. ReKap - for causal arguments, author assumes that correlation equals causation, that there is not other cause, and that it is not the other way around Rekap - ''correlation'' means two things happen in same time and/or space, but doesn't necessarily mean that they are connected; authors just from that apparent relationship to a conclusion that one caused the other ReKap - wrong answers to flaw questions will be other common LSAT flaws, so make sure to understand that flaw and ask yourself if this author is really doing this ReKap - in Assumptions look for the mismatched terms and link them up! ReKap - start with the new term that pops in the Conclusion without being mentioned in the evidence Rekap - Ev: a>b Conc: c>b, so assumption is C>A, link the mismatched terms; and don't include the common terms ReKap - For parallel reasoning always characterize the type and level of certainty of the conclusion ReKap - most common way to weaken a causal argument is to ID another cause for the observed result ReKap - Inference = Must Be True; work with the facts (not looking for conclusions or assumptions) and look for deductions ReKap - watch out for Inference answers that are out of scope, too extreme or ''could be true'' but don't have to be ReKap - For assumption questions, any answers that don't have the new term that pops up in the conclusion can be eliminated ReKap - Just by recognizing that new conclusion term will very quickly increase your educated guessing odds on tough assumption questions (sometimes can get rid of 2, 3 or 4 of the wrong answers!!)
ReKap - use the odds; take any advantage you can Reading Comp Rekap - Slap a label on each paragraph ReKap - if author neutrally gives two examples (one for and one against) can't pick a Main Idea answer that puts the author on one side ReKap - ID the author's ''voice'' Rekap - Similar structure as last passage with one for and one against example, but needed to use all the emphasis and contrast keywords in paragraphs 2 and 3 to pick up on ''local involvement'' as key factor ReKap - ''Detail'' the correct answer is stated right there in the passage, and just need to find it and match it up Rekap - for logic function questions make sure to use the context. Look back to see what ''examples'' illustrate Rekap - if a conclusion or argument isn't directly making a comparison itself then be very wary of answers choices that inject a comparison Games ReKap - questions that just ask ''which of following must be true?'' will be testing your deductions ReKap - ''Completely determine'' questions will often require you to test answers and see if everything fills in from that starting point Rekap - Use Your Pencil for Logic Games! Its easier on your brain to let your pencil do your work REKap - best way to set up limited options is with a Big Block that only fits two ways Test Day ReKap - there is something wrong with each of the incorrect answers; so if in looking for right answer you get stuck between two then look for something wrong with one of them ReKap - stress management = day off a week, eat right, sleep, exercise, positive thoughts ReKap - before each section set the timer to Noon and always go from Noon to 12:35; a nice visual of the time passing without needing to do math ReKap You will be successful; you will a lawyer; let us know how it goes!
