HE WISCONSIN STATE LABORATORY OF HYGIENE holds a cooperative agreement with the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to conduct their annual surveys. The BLS/OSH Statistics Unit is part of WSLHs Occupational Health and Safety Division, which also includes the occupational health laboratory (WOHL) and the health and safety consultation program (WisCon).

HE SURVEY OF OCCUPATIONAL INJURIES AND ILLNESSES (SOII) is the largest nationwide data collection of worker injury statistics. This information helps pinpoint the causes of work injuries, and is used to: Create safety legislation Set insurance policy rates Improve worker safety programs Compare injury rates across industries
